we have our prints done with an automotive grade UV clear coat that is srayed on and have signs out there that are years old and look great. we don't have a flatbed so we out source it. I am a big fan of the clear coat vs laminate.

the ones I've seen got replaced before I was able to snap a pix. they looked burned or rusted and at the top they were peeling off the substrate.

I've been using Gerber software forever. when I got Illy, I was totally lost and had a hard time doing anything as nothing made sense. must be my brain is now wired for Gerber:)

anyone have any photos of what a cheap, substandard laminate on a digital print looks like? I looked online and can find nothing. what I am looking for is a photo of a sign that shows the brownish mess and such of a laminate that didn't do a great job of protecting the print. thanks

are you making lettering for walls? "Live, Love, Puke" kind of things? they make a removable vinyl for those kinds of things. not sure myself jsut what kidn it is but I would look into finding our if that is what you plan on doing. low tack vinyls made for signs still can lift paint.

"Bubble Free" may mean Air Release? Or Channels to me that means using the correct application method and squeegee. for just about every application, I do it dry and only use wet when I'm putting down something with a solid background, knocked out copy and is huge

to add to the srpay it with windex, just do it in small sections, not too far ahead as it can make it really gummy

you might be better off buying a redwood blank rather than making your own. are you blasting the background or the letters? the reason I ask is because the font for the name is kind of whimy and with a blasted background, it might not show up very well with all the grain pattern. I'd v-groove...

sub it out to a trade printer as suggested, I'll add Gill Studios to that list. you can get paper labels as roll stock which is much easier to use and store
