  1. Looking for website designer

Phillip (Neato) does nice work in my opinion. He did my site (www.precisionsignservices.com) as well as a bunch of others.
  2. Adhering plexi on wall, but with face-mounted vinyl on it...

You can minimize/eliminate damage to drywall & paint by using fishing line to cut through the VHB tape. Once you cut through the tape and the sign is removed, the remaining tape on the wall can usually (emphasis on 'usually') be removed without any damage to the wall.
  3. Adhering plexi on wall, but with face-mounted vinyl on it...

So, if VHB tape is applied to the vinyl, and the VHB tape is 1/32" (±) thick, and you add a dime-sized dollop of any reputable silicone (which will be either non-shrinking or low-shrinking silicone), and mount that on the wall, it's going to pull the vinyl off? Sorry, but I don't see it happening.
  4. What do you collect

...or send them to me. I'd give them a good home. :)
  5. Adhering plexi on wall, but with face-mounted vinyl on it...

I almost typed "dollops of Daisy".
  6. Adhering plexi on wall, but with face-mounted vinyl on it...

This is what I would do...and add a few dollops of silicone for good measure.
  7. What do you collect

My wife and I travel a lot and I used to travel a ton when I did sign surveys. Trying different beer is a bit of a hobby for me. I have over 500 different beer bottles. The worst one I've ever had was Cave Creek Chili beer. The bottle comes with a chili pepper in it and tastes like what you'd...
  8. Adhering plexi on wall, but with face-mounted vinyl on it...

Common terminology: Vinyl on the face side of something is often referred to as 1st surface. Vinyl on the back side of something is often referred to as second surface. Does the vinyl cover the entire 2nd surface? Do you have artwork or photos of the sign? How large is the sign? Details......
  9. Push Productions / Tomball, Texas

Welcome, fellow Texan! Looks like nice work.

  11. temporary sign covering backlit

Sounds like you've got the info you need. Just thought I'd clarify the banner bag (or commonly called "toaster cover") method of covering a sign cabinet. Having a banner sewn similar to a toaster cover (with grommets at the bottom) enables you to just slide it over the top and tie it together at...
  12. Help locating a product

We always got it straight from Wagner. Keep in mind there's a top track, middle track, and bottom track.
  13. Installing one inch aluminum letters

Below are some pretty small letters I had to install recently. I used VHB tape (the thicker stuff - customer spec) and silicone and was just really, really careful. The stroke width was extremely thin, so where silicone did show, I wiped up what I could with a Q-tip and then came back with a...
  14. Installing one inch aluminum letters

If it were me, I would apply the clear VHB tape (the thinnest one - I forget the number). If you are that against using VHB and they sent a pattern and they're drilled for studs, I would use the studs and tiny dabs of silicone in the holes. The problem with thin strips of VHB tape is it can...
  15. Adhesive for Metal Letter Install On Exterior Tile Wall

The quick answer: Yes. Would I want to install 14" letters without a stud or two? No. I would always worry. That being said, if you use VHB and silicone - it would take a lot to remove them. But I would still worry. That being said, I would use a little 1-minute epoxy as well. If you use...
  16. Full window vinyl install...

    Thank you!
  17. Full window vinyl install...

That looks great - and, agreed - nice shop! I suppose it's the rule to eliminate/discard the lettering that falls where the mullions are, correct? In other words you don't split a letter and just move it over. (make sense?)
  18. Full window vinyl install...

I know!! There's a funny (kind of) story behind that... So, Phillip designed my logo. We went through a ton of revisions and finally arrived at the finished product. A few months back, I was eating at this awesome Salvadorian restaurant that is by the sign company I worked at for 10 years. I...
  19. Best Sandblast mask for raw HDU

Hey - someone from B-ville. I lived up that way for a while (Fulton/Oswego). Welcome to the site. Marcus (a member on here) is from Oswego. Maybe you can feed each other work. Sorry to hijack the thread. :peace!:
  20. Full window vinyl install...

I'm purposely leaving information out to string you guys along. jk...I'm a bit tired and am leaving out details, sorry. There are multiple windows. The estimated time was per window including drive time. It's local, so no big deal there. And that's exactly how this job is - not sure what...
