  5. Need Help Roland XR-640 doesn't recognize any of the 8 ink cartridges

Note - the OP added a note to their original post to note the issue was with the head board, not the main board. I spoke with the OP at length yesterday. The blown fuses were due to shorted transistors on the head board, which they have now repaired. We went through the tech level ink type...

You might also check both Ergosoft and Beaver's websites for profiles you can download and install. What is...
  10. Need Help Roland XR-640 doesn't recognize any of the 8 ink cartridges

I can help you with the ink type issue, but it needs to be done on the phone. I also suspect you have a number of repairable head boards. The random nozzles could be dampers or caps. Are the dampers black or white in color? I have worked on two XR's that were having random nozzle dropout and...
  11. Help with Roland RT-640 texart

A couple of questions. What ink, paper and software are you using? What media setting are you using in the RIP, i.e., media name and resolution? I did a 7 year stint running sublimation printing production for a major promotional products company, where cost was a big thing. I have experienced...

I may be able to help you out. I have a surface mount rework station and do board repairs to a certain level. If you can send a hi-res pic of the mainboard, especially a pic in the USB connector area, I will see if I can identify the USB chip and if I can get one. Where on the east coast are...

netsol, I defer to your expertise in this area. My networking knowledge only goes so far. As far as anyone else printing, typically setting up a hot folder usually takes care of this.
  14. XC540

Have you looked at the bottom of the cyan head? Check it for any evidence of damages, any marks of any kind. Also check for ink build-up on the head. Be sure your wipers are in good shape, as they will not clean ink build-up off the head very well if they're not clean and unworn.

Have you done anything in the print head cavity recently? Do as Solventinkjet.com suggested. If that doesn't work, you might also reseat the ribbon cables on the print heads. Be sure to power off and unplug the power cable first. It looks like some of the nozzles are going into what I call a...

  17. VersaWorks slow print

IT people don't do well in wide format printing environments, LOL... They don't seem to understand the amount of printing data is, in essence, streaming data. The direct connection should solve your issue. Where are you located in Florida?
  18. VersaWorks slow print

This sounds like a data transmission issue, as you are printing over a network. Are there are lot of users on this network? If it is a busy network, you could try a faster network switch. A simpler, better and cheaper option is to install a second network card in the computer and connect it...
  19. Front Cover Sensor Not Working
