  1. Reflective Vinyl

Does it say that anywhere? Curious because In our 3m course they actually suggested doing reflective stripes wet app to prevent any bruising. The only.time they advised against wet app is if it's a air egress vinyl. We do lots.of 3290/3271 cut graphics as wet apply and never have a problem.
  2. Reflective Vinyl

You can get some bruising out with heat... but it usually just lessens it, it doesn't get rid of it. It happens for a few reasons, if you lift the reflective after it's been on the car it'll bruise for sure.. it's very sensitive. If you stretch it certain ways, or "shrink" it by getting a big...
  3. Reflective Vinyl

We use 780 a lot. We do tons of police graphics with it, from full wraps to a lot of cut graphics on them. It can be used for cut graphics just as good as 680. 780 is a bit more stretchable/conformable, and it bruises less than 680. It's hard to tell from the pic... but I'm going to guess...
  4. New HP Latex 700 and 800 series - with White ink

Honestly, the way latex handles white ink it's better to have it than to not... In theory. When you remove.the white head for storage.... Do you have to go through the whole head alignment process everytime you put it back in? If so I'd say that's the only downfall with someone having it and...
  5. Need Help BEST plotter for Contour Cutting Reflective Material??

Have you tried the reverse marks? I use it on my 8600 and it cuts holo pretty good. Or if you're in a bind you can put premask over and use a felt pen.
  6. Real Estate - Residential - not sign related

You guys are cute with your "High" prices.... I wont even link to one in particular... here's all the "detached" houses in vancouver. To get a detached house in vancouver proper is between 2-5 million... With a minimum wage of $14 an hour, it'd only take 230 years to pay off the cheaper...
  7. Need Help BEST plotter for Contour Cutting Reflective Material??

Cutting master 4 has the option. It turns it into this - Much more accurate for reflective materials
  8. News on any new HP latex printer?

Youch. Expensive. Definately worth a watch... And I'm a big latex guy, but that much of a price increase combined with lack of "extras" just doesn't seem worth it. It says faster speeds but it still seems slow. .. It'll be interesting to watch!
  9. Need advice on GFP 563TH

So do you leave the laminator down 24/7 so you don't have to re-attach the laminate? I know newer machines are better and don't get a "flat spot" as often... but it'd still worry me. I do a lot of short runs as well. for anything under 10 FT I lay the print down flat on the 4x8 table infront...
  10. Epson discontinuing rewards program

Nice. We just bought two Epsons as well. I didn't look much into the reward program, so I don't feel that shafted.... But it's always nice.to have something taken away from you before the printer even arrives!
  11. Suggestions How to make a custom mirror

Good video, I'll subscribe and keep an eye on it! 1 suggestion though - If you're going to be using music... Normalize the audio so it's at the same level as your voice. Everytime I heard you I had to crank the volume up... and then comes the sound and I had to lower it a lot.
  12. over silicone joints on a trailer

Your best looking, but obviously most expensive option is to remove the silicone first. Clean it up with a good silicone remover like Rapid prep, vinyl over it...then use a clear silicone overtop. IMO, that way always looks better than leaving big gaps, especially when the silicone has yellowed...
  13. What made you smile today

Well... I'm taking a day off for the first time since Covid hit, so theres always that! We've been short handed, I was thrown into a new position, and its been hectic. This is the first time in a year I'm ahead of the orders, so I'm taking the opportunity to have a day off... spending the day...
  14. STREET SIGNS

.080 as others have said. But I question the process. Green reflective, white vinyl lettering and then overlam? so they put cut letters on and them overlaminate it? Thatd leave pretty big air gaps... and if it's green vinyl + white vinyl, why would you need overlam unless it's to make it anti...
  15. need a wholesale to print me some decals

Avery sf100 series is what we print the most on. It's cheaper, and great for indoor stuff. Rtape makes one that's marketed as printable as well. https://www.fdcfilms.com/product/r-tape-vinylefx-fine-brush-decorative-series/ I believe 3m has a 180 metallic that's printable with all...
  16. It's true, you crazy Canadians are too nice!

    I'll just leave this here...
  17. Discussion Becoming very commonplace recently.......................................

I was going to shut up, but I'll say it since the thread seems to be headed in that direction anyways. You may have noticed I barely reply to political stuff now... It's not because I'm Canadian and give 2 cents what you think of my opinion, but because I I think most people just do an agree or...
  18. Discussion Becoming very commonplace recently.......................................

I get canada shamed whenever I post. :p I spend 90% of my time just reading the threads. I can keep posting and replying to people... But it feels like beating a dead horse. If I have something new to add, I will.... But I'm not going to keep posting.and arguing my position because I've...
