  1. Service contract renewal-Yay or Nay?

    Ain't that the truth!
  2. Service contract renewal-Yay or Nay?

I'm sure this has been discussed at one point on here. HP is contacting me about renewing my service contract on my HP Latex 330. The monthly fee isn't bad but just trying to decide if it's really worth it. $160 per month for 2 years. I think I have a tech out 1-2 times a year, usually minor...

I tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari, all my cookies and pop-ups are enabled. It doesn't even let me type anything in, just says error. Tried on my Mac and PC.

Hi, lately I haven't been able to search on here. It just says error no matter what browser I'm using. Also, why can't I see all the posts I've written? I can't search for them and if someone doesn't reply to it how do I find it?
  5. Awful wrap.

I hate when people wrap over emblems. Take them off and put them over the wrap. So much easier and clean looking. This is a garbage wrap.
  6. What kind of work vehicle do you use?

We have a 2011 HHR for small installs and deliveries. Then the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi for towing and hauling signs. Was thinking of getting another HHR for the guys to drive because they get good mileage, look kinda cool and don't cost much. They are difficult to wrap though. Oh yeah, the...
  7. 4500 square foot wall wrap installation

It's really helpful using that guide, at least gives you an idea on where to start and base your pricing accurately.
  8. 4500 square foot wall wrap installation

Yeah, exactly! I hear you, I'm sure there's lots of shops in CA that would do it for less. I originally was thinking about $2 a sq. ft. until I talked to my buddy but I think his pricing is definitely high.
  9. 4500 square foot wall wrap installation

I had another sign shop about 10 hours away from me saying he'd charge $6 per sq. ft. I'm 100% confident in doing the installation. We have completed the 3m training and also 20 years experience in installing vinyl. That part I'm not concerned about. The height of the vinyl is roughly 3' tall...
  10. 4500 square foot wall wrap installation

So we are bidding on a brick wall wrap to do the installation only. It's outdoors and will be changed out every couple years. The square footage is roughly 4500 sq. ft. and will be printed by another vendor. We are just going to be doing the installation. We have installed on brick walls but...
  11. F150 Hockey Stripe

Checking to see if someone has this created in a vector format or at least hast the measurements for it. We have installed several of them in the past but haven't had a need to make one until now. Obviously it would be super simple to re-create, just need the dimensions. If someone has one...
  12. Heat Guns

We have gone through lots of different heat guns but the ones we love for wrapping are the Milwaukee 8975-6 model. They are just under $100 at Northern Tool but they come with a 5 year warranty. I just sent one in that we had for 2 years, used everyday and had the low go out on it. Sent it in...
  13. Making a time-lapse video

So we want to do a time lapse video of a wrap we are starting tomorrow. Obviously my phone has video and the time lapse function but for 1, there's not enough memory, and 2, I'm on my phone frequently. So is a Go-pro, SLR camera, or video camera best for doing this? I see people post videos all...
  14. Determining the value of your business

Yes, I would prefer something like that where I'm only here for a few months. I would imagine that would be difficult being an employee after being the owner of something you've built. At this point though, I'm ready for a change.
  15. Determining the value of your business

Yes, we do have some contracts. However, I would possibly stay on as an employee if the business buying mine would prefer that. I think if I pitched the sale to the right person or business they would buy it with or without me included.
  16. Determining the value of your business

A few months ago I met with some bankers regarding a business loan to purchase a new building. We ended up running out of time and had to lease instead but it all worked out how it was supposed to. Anyway, during the meeting, we were discussing what I valued my business at. They had a general...
  17. Printing on awnings, please advise

Also interested in what this would cost, does anyone here own one of these machines? How big is the image area?
  18. Printing on awnings, please advise

So there is no simple way of doing this except painting sounds like the best and most costs effective option. I have painted a couple small awnings before with latex paint. I think the process mentioned in post 13 seems like a good way to go. Putting down the base coat of white then apply the...
  19. Printing on awnings, please advise

The material used will be Sunbrella. What's the graphics machine you are talking about? I have a 64" Graphtec plotter and HP Latex 330 and we are a sign company. If I do use a t-shirt heat press, can I overlap something 2-3 times on the heat press? Say the design is 19"x48" and the hear press is...
