  2. Best Cutter for Pre-printed Rolls of Paper?

We have one of these, works just like a utility knife so yes the cuts are ok, but it just make me laugh how easy it looks on the video to cut through that foamboard. In reality it takes at least 3 strokes with pretty hard pushing.
  3. Custom Street Signs - Raised letters

While that is a good idea, they probably don't do custom signs, they have their letter sets for license plates.

  8. Question Never did this before..................

Why not print black dots on the vinyl? Same look but will last longer. If the client wants window perf just use laminate (optically clear)
  9. Need Help HELP: Roland sold me a defective printer and I lost $750,000

If you truly believe your printer is faulty try finding a company with the same machine you have, ask them to print a sample so you can compare the results, speeds etc. If your machine doesn't perform the same you have all the right to go to court. But honestly I thing you was just too lazy to...

  14. Need Help Roland vg 540 Ink Swap

Prints will take twice as long, does it sound like it's worth it? Gradients will be smoother, with LM and LC gray gradients will be true grays not green-ish or purple-ish, Oringe will make skin colors smoother. If you don't want to print extra small laptop stickers i'd say it doesn't worth the...
  15. Newbie needing Mimaki CJV150-75 Help

Eco solvent ink is perfectly eco once it dries, it is not very healthy while it dries (for men especially). When I asked my tech he said he drinks milk every day (probably for the calcium), so you're not crazy having health concerns. Fortunately my printer is in a huge room, but I always make...
  16. Newbie needing Mimaki CJV150-75 Help

Eco sol is eco sol, no matter what printer/ brand of ink you use, the carrier liquid has a certain smell to it, there is very little difference between manufacturers as the base formula is the same (it needs to dissolve the top layer of the PVC) Latex ink smells differently but never had a...
  17. Artwork Proofing

You don't need to have the font. Place the file-> object->flatten transparency-> convert text to outline
  18. Artwork Proofing

In illustrator if you create a new file and "place" the pdf in instead of "open" - the file will be unchanged. I always send the proof back for confirmation cuz the client doesn't know that I didn't modify anything and they'll actually double check and look for their errors. Otherwise you'll...
  19. Artwork Proofing

I'm very well aware what you mean by locked, but that's just as locked as your bycicle with a note "do not steal it pretty please". You should never include vectors in PDF.
