If you aren't the owner you have no say in the matter. I'm a sole proprietor/home based. Even though I can still work from home I took myself out of the equation voluntarily. Next door neighbors brother and sister-in-law are in the local hospital with Covid19. She's gets to go home today or...
Students will get to see the inside of my office complete with laminator, mobile kit, and whatever else is within camera view. Dog might wander in occasionally too. She may add some comic relief which would be welcome.
I figure it's better to be real than to try and present a perfect...
Our campus is closed until at least April 30th. At that point there's only two weeks left in the semester. I start WebEx content delivery Thursday afternoon.
According to WI guidelines I work from home and can keep working. But I don't think that means I can travel for installs. Very vague in that respect.
Personally I'm staying put. Lots of yachts to work on, and the money isn't worth my health.
Mom and Pop always said: "if you don't have your...
I'd also try steam or a steam pressure washer. Clients daughter removed graphics on a truck in a couple minutes with a steam pressure washer. She got the truck muddy and was trying to "help". Ooops.
Seems to have calmed down and gotten back to business as usual at Signs101.
Got bigger fish to fry anyway. I start teaching again Thursday but not face-to-face. Classes will be virtual through WebEx. Did some dry runs and such, but ya know how perfectly everything works until ya need it to...
Because of my experience I give the buy local advice to everyone.
I bought local again, and to date have had an awesome experience. Got a good deal on the printer, bulk ink system, and an unlocked version of Flexi. If you run a Graphtec plotter the Flexi that comes bundled will be all you...
My dad is 94 and has gone full bore into baking. Bought a mixer from Sweden. Can't remember where he bought his grain mill. Yes, he grinds his own wheat into flour. Turns out incredible breads, rolls, scones etc... Told him I'm going to bring my Kamado and use it as a wood fired oven. He...
If the printers weren't properly flushed beforehand the complete ink train is probably toast. Lines, dampers, manifolds and the heads are most likely clogged beyond repair.
For the money you'll spend in parts you could buy a working rig. Not to mention the countless hours and frustration...
If you think curfews are Draconian or infringing your rights just wait and see what happens if coronavirus cases keep ramping up. You really aren't going to like it.
I run a 1624x but stay with me. When the 1641SR hit the market I called my dealer and said I want one. He said: "Between what you have and what the SR can do there isn't enough of a change to warrant switching. You will not notice a difference in printing".
He could have said "Sure come...
Sport bikes are normally full wraps. I'd start by making a tracing of the lower fairing. Use plotter paper and a crayon to get the basic shape and any large cutouts/recessed areas. Strike a reference line through the middle of the tracing, then strike lines perpendicular to the reference...
Just a thought for the OP. Fulfilling work doesn't need to be in line with your degree.
I have fun teaching, but I absolutely love to weld/fab. How many degreed graphic designers do you know that can TIG weld cold side piping for a turbo? Just sayin' ;)
