  1. Looking into a possible CNC

Just wanted to say this is a great thread with a lot of great info. Been kicking around the idea of getting a CNC myself, though not real soon. I'm a "learn all I can and absorb" type of person before I actually pull the trigger, lol.
  2. Tampa Fellers - NOT sewing banners anymore - WTH

Yeah, found that out earlier this year the most of the shops will discontinue sewing by the end of this year. I had a large project back in the spring that allowed me to justify the purchase of a heavy duty commercial sewing machine. (It takes some getting used to...)
  3. Why do you need to flush out old ink when changing manufacturers?

It seems to me I've seen most 3rd party ink companies state that it is usually OK to just plug in their ink if you're using OEM. (Most I've seen state their inks are chemically compatible with OEM - be sure to check for yourself though, lol.) However, they do warn if you're already running...
  4. Cheapest OEM Mutoh ink?

    Fellers?
  5. What a slap in the face....

This is pretty standard for most Chambers and is the main issue I have with them. I am the only "local" sign shop in our community, but there are 4 other sign shops from other cities who are members... To be fair, they have to spread the work around, but I never see much except low-buck bottom...
  6. Head Life

    1. No such thing as average. Too many variables involved based on printer type, shop size, type/size of things being printed, etc. A large dedicated wrap shop may print 10-16 hours a day while a small 1 man shop might be lucky to print 1-2 hours per day on average 2. I'm assuming you're...
  7. Am I supposed to care?

    I am in awe...TOO COOL!!! :rock-n-roll:
  8. Roland CAMM-1 GX cutter question

AFAIK, only the current GX series come with optical. My previous cutter was a Roland CX-400 - very reliable cutter, but didn't have the width or optical I needed when I got my printer. I have a service manual for CX-300, 400 and 500 series. If you need it, let me know.
  9. CAMM-1 PNC-1000 illegal Pinchroll Position

Just before I got my Summa, I had a CX-400. I had to replace the pinch roller sensor ($55) after I started getting errors like that. *It' a little green circuit board on the back of the cutting head, about 1" x .5" or so with 2 lead wires coming off it that will need to be re-soldered.
  10. Estimate & other pricing software

Just thought I'd throw my vote in for GraphixCALC Pro. Works great, easy to use - don't know what I'd do without it.
  11. Macintosh Sign calculating software.

For $59 (currently on sale) I would buy a copy of VMWare Fusion and install it on your mac: http://store.vmware.com/store/vmware/pd/productID.165310200/Currency.USD/?src=PaidSearch_Google_PersonalDesktop_Fusion_NORAM_BLANKET_EN_Brand&resid=TgnmkgoBAlcAAG0W0e0AAAA0&rests=1309271698070 (You can...
  12. To My Friends and Family here...

Spend time with him, live each day to the fullest, never give up hope!!! Hang in there Stacy.
  13. Coroplast

It looks like Grimco and Tubelite should deliver to your area, yes? (I pretty much get all my substrates from Grimco.)
  14. File size limits for JV33 ink jet printer

If your native image is 36" x 53" sized at 300 dpi that is a huge honkin' file - especially if you are using TIFF or JPEG. Have you tried a PDF? Also, you should really be able to drop down to around 100-150 dpi. I get excellent results with lower resolution files through Wasatch and my...
  15. Now that's a big box of swabs

Well, missed out on the best deal (.10¢/ea with free shipping) but I used the link above. Half of what I pay now, price with ground shipping to me was 13.66¢/ea.
  16. Now that's a big box of swabs

Hmm, just tried to order and their site isn't adding anything to my cart... Anybody order these recently?
  17. Mutoh valujet 1204-inkwastetankfull

I believe there is a sensor underneath where the wast tray goes that trips when the pads swell up telling it's time to change the waste tray. See if they had it taped/covered or perhaps the sensor has been bumped? Can you call who you bought it from and ask them?
  18. GraphixCALC User Survey

Took the survey, thanks for a great product!
  19. Flooding

Very sorry to hear that Mosh, don't know what I could say to be helpful in a situation like this. Just hoping you and your family are safe and that it doesn't get as bad as they say it will.
