  1. Finishing HDU

I'm glad you got it worked out, I'm gonna check out some of the Benjamin Moore paints that some of you talk about and see how they work. That said since your in MD, call Pioneer and order some Ronan and try it. I still belive it gives you the best finish that brushed on/rolled on paint can...
  2. Finishing HDU

    1. I wouldnt expect oil to cover in one coat, let alone latex. If it is a light color latex or it should cover in two, if its a dark color I've had to do three or four coats. 2. I usally dont pre-paint panels then rout, I know many do and it must work but I've never had success doing that...

  8. Crap substrate.....

Do they realize that a new sub-straight with vinyl would prolly be cheaper than Gemini letters installed on her boards? That said id use Gemini letters, just use the stud/pad combo where you can and just pads other places. Just use a good adhesive on all of them, I use Dow Corning 732 its the...
  9. Sign World 2010 - The Blog

  10. Using Craigslist

I was actully just in Charlottesville last weekend, nice place. Back to the original question.....Do I use Craigslist?? 11. Printing media 101

Colin, congrats on the printer, no matter what anyone tells you it IS worth it. I'd say I'm about the same size place as you, my shop is basicly me and my parents. I know there are good wholesale printers but about 3 years ago I bought a Mumaki JV-33 and have not regreted it a single day. There...

  14. Hand drawn & lettered

Yeah really, I think the people that hand letter or do other types of handcrafted things are highly respected here. No one here disrespects them, and the was certainly no call for you to go off the deep end and rant against anything computer. Kevin
  15. So how do you learn to letter by hand?

Just a question.....If we have an energy crisis and we would all lose power for an extended period of time, what business owner will be buying signs to invite people somewhere that HAS NO POWER!!!! Maybe you can letter resturant windows so people can eat in the dark, maybe the local store...
  16. Hand drawn & lettered

Hello, I'm Kevin, I'm fat and use a computer. Therefore my work is crappy and non-artistic. (turn off sarcasum) Many of us here use a computer to create great works of art, stop hating on one way or another. Sign Maniac was exactly correct, it is just advertising, and different ways of doing...
  17. Church sign craziness...

Awesome job as always!!!!!! I can't belive you made five church signs, and none of them had any changeable copy!!! Everyone around here wants me to ruin thier sign with plastic letters. Kevin
  18. Your Opinion of Seamless Texture Tiles

As others have said, I have used the tiles on occasion and they were exactly what I needed. But I usally do not do textured backrounds so I don't look for them very often. But I think they are a great value and appreciate that they are there, b/c when I do need them they are valueble. Kevin
