  1. I see your "Knockout Game" and raise you a...

I like how the assailant tosses the other guy a pillow.
  2. Cutting Sintra

:Big Laugh yes it does... I read his post as IPS instead of IPM..
  3. Cutting Sintra

125ipm? You sure about that? Way, way too fast if it is. Back it down to 2, maybe 3 ips depending on your machine. Are you using a climb cut or conventional with the upspiral? Try cutting the opposite way with the upspiral and see if that changes anything.
  4. Gilding: NEWBIE

I'm not a big fan of latex on dimensional stuff like that. It's too thick for my tastes. But yes, sand the HDU down a bit (get rid of the milling marks), and put a couple coats of good quality enamel on it until it's smooth(er). Then use your size - up to you as to quick or slow. I'm finding...
  5. Aluminum to aluminum bonding help!!!

Let me put it in perspective: the 3M adhesive I learned through an autobody shop. Many cars and vans have glued panels in place, not welds. I've been using it ever since with not a single failure on some fairly highly stressed aluminum items (not always signs..).
  6. Honey Cut?

What you should really be asking yourself is how your customer knows what the material is that is used for sandblasting. Isn't that your job?
  7. How to align OBJECTS to path in Coreldraw...?

:rock-n-roll: That's actually pretty cool. Neat alternative thinking on that one!
  8. Installing a backlit interior sign

Yeah, overthinking. Studs into the HDU with painted sleeves as spacers..
  9. X5 giving me fits...

Just finished a large layout job and went to save it and the program crashed in the middle of the save. Of course, I go to open it again, and there is nothing there at all - on any of the pages. I have the auto-backup which I can work from if I can open that - but it's telling me that there is...
  10. Odd CoCut issue

Yep. Weird thing is, the computer is supposed to do that - no updates without my input first - but from time to time it will update anyway (critical updates, it says). I hate it when I come to the office in the morning and find my startup screen sitting there...
  11. Odd CoCut issue

Fixed A simple thing that just never occurred to me; Summa tech called and suggested the first line of defense - remove and reinstall the plotter, which resets the driver. Instant fix. Weird things happen when computers sit over a weekend!
  12. engine turn and reg. marks

Engine turn on what? Turned vinyl or printed? Or printed on turned vinyl? You can always try to recalibrate to the black that's printed on the vinyl, but my guess is that there won't be enough contrast. In the past I've actually printed the registration marks on white, cut them out with a small...
  13. Odd CoCut issue

Been using CoCut for years from Summa. Went to plot a file this morning and the cutter simply drew a rectangle - blade up - around the area that the plot would have occupied. There was no bounding border on the items selected. Tried it again on another file and the same thing happened. I have a...
  14. need help finding

What the heck is a master tiger xk559? I can't even find that in a Google search. Sounds like a cheap Chinese machine if that is what it is... good luck finding an owners manual.
  15. *** new HANDiBOT from shopbot ***

Sounds like an accurate guess, but as someone who has a 'Bot and has worked with other CNC routers, any one of them could have an "error" at any time. I love my Bot. It may not be the quickest thing in the world, but does everything I ask it to do. But I'm not seeing anything to do with...
  16. how to install very tall lighted sign on posts HELP

You're just not listening, are you? Signtronix is selling you a sign and suggestions, not what should be done. Sub this out to someone with the know-how, equipment and most importantly, the engineering skills to put the sign up correctly, or be damn sure your insurance is up to date when the...
  17. Faux cast bronze plaques

Interesting... her's is just like Fusioncast's stuff..
  18. Corel plotting signs short?

Yep, make sure your bridge program (Finecut) is calibrated correctly. Been plotting from CoCut for years and never had an issue with a dimension.
  19. how to apply vinyl into the recessed van window ?

Reheat the edges anyway to make sure they're down. Better safe than have it peel up when they first wash it. Neat little truck. It's amazing how much that looks like a downsized Sprinter..
