  1. More of Phillip's handywork...

With my business name of "Precision Sign Services", we decided on taking a clean and simple approach. I'm very happy with his work - I think he did an outstanding job. Logo and business card (front & back) below:
  2. Mounting panels to round posts...

Good call. VHB tape and/or countersunk screws.

  4. Mounting panels to round posts...

My first choice would be ton slot the post from the finial downward equal to the height and depth of the panel. If they ever want to change the panel, they can remove the finials, pull the panel out the top, slide the new one in. That way there are no exposed fasteners. If they don't care about...
  5. A nice logo

Agreed. Similar to the one Phillip is doing for me....looking forward to showing it. :)
  6. Spelling and grammar

    ..."english" should be capitalized.
  7. I need a linguist

    It's storming out. ...next question.
  8. A .pdf of the 2012 sign regs if anyone is interested...

What Gene said. I put 2012 in the title by mistake, sorry.

Nice to have on your phone or whatever.
  10. The signs are nice...

...but I like the building. I've been installing a bunch of interior signs at the Perot Museum here in Dallas. Don't really have any great pictures of the signs, but thought some of you may enjoy the architecture. The building is pretty amazing.
  11. Standard brick mount

What Bill said....brick and mortar dimensions vary - just depends on the type of brick (there are a few common types used that vary slightly in size) and the brick layer (mortar joint thickness will vary obviously). The brick on commercial structures typically measures from 2½" to 3" high by...

lol...all in good fun...just glad you got the job! Hope it works out well for you.
  13. A big 'thanks' to Phillip...

It's about 99% done. Just trying to decide on colors. I'm kind of at a loss now because I was looking at some of the concepts on my laptop and portions looked to be various shades of green - some dark, some light - but undeniably green. Then I happened to look at them on my iPad and they...
  14. A big 'thanks' to Phillip...

...and he's not even done yet. He does some pretty great work (and has tremendous patience). I'm extremely happy with the designs he's proposed. They're almost too good - it's been hard to narrow the choices down. Now that I've narrowed it down, I'm trying to decide on colors. I'll...
  15. Back lit sign

    You bet! ...oh, wait...
  16. My first proper shop! (moving out of the basement)

    What's a 'meter'? :) Nice place!!
  17. Just refused 2nd truck shipment of 040 Aluminum...Need new Alum Supplier ASAP

If you're buying by the pallet load like you said, EMS is probably going to your best bet. Their trucks make the trip up Hwy. 45 to Dallas frequently. I would imagine they'd swing off and deliver without a problem.
  18. Back lit sign

Polycarbonate (brand name: Lexan) is considerably stronger, which I would definitely want in your area. It's also much easier to scratch, so just handle it with a bit of care.
  19. electric sander recommendations

It's more money, but if you have it for that inevitable time you need to sand in a low-clearance area, you'll be glad you spent the extra bucks. Because the only thing worse than not being able to fit your palm sander in a low clearance area is having to sand it by hand. ...I mean there are...
  20. shirt design, maybe

I just think the black text stands out too much. From a distance, your eyes will only "read" the black text.
