The most of the falcon's do have the cheaper print heads... as far as how good they are, I did a ton of searches on this site and it was about 50/50 hate vs like. I had a mutoh rep in here from advantage sign supply and he said he felt bad he ever sold one to anybody. the new valuejets seem to...
If they print one out (push and hold the button on the front of the machine that says..."TEST PRINT") it should look like the one I've attached. There are a couple of nozzles on my black that are a little goofy, but it prints just fine.
As far as who does the conversions....there might be...
If it was properly converted and the heads are in good shape...either drained and stored properly or they haven't let it set very long without printing (I've heard 5-8 days at most) then it could be a good buy. Ask for a print head test print... that's the big thing. Each of the print heads...
What about this? Would it be possible to print to a .pdf with the registration marks... and then import that pdf into ColorRip? I might try that when I get into the shop on Monday.
Hello all, I have a FJ-540 and was thinking about upgrading my vinyl plotter to something that has an optical eye for contour cutting. I don't need a big cutter, a 23" cut area is fine for what I need. I've seen in the past that the Roland GX-24 comes bundled with Roland Cut Studio... I use...
Have you tried printing out any cmyk charts and going by their color? That's an easier way to hit a color.
I think there is also a way to let composer suggest foil combinations that will get you as close as it thinks it can to different pantone colors (or at least I think it was pantone...
Yeah... how much experience do you have in the industry? I've worked in the sign-printing/copy-design industry for about 15 years and there are things I still learn every single day. If you are starting out from scratch, the answer is - no.
Even starting out on the cheap it could still run...
After looking at that page a couple of times... What I see in just about every photo is the "depth" or "mood" of the color just has these tones that makes them come to life. No, they're not the most vibrant or modern "IN YOUR FACE" punchy colors --- but somehow they just seem to have this...
When laminating small things I use a big squeegee. It took a few times to figure it out, but once you do figure it out it works really well. After you lam the item, just use a small felt squeegee to get out the silvering.
my prediction... it takes of great and as it leave the runway a goose gets sucked into the propeller and she goes down in feathers and flames!
Wear a fire retardant suit. GOOD LUCK!:thumb:
well... yeah... you don't want to get into anything that makes zero sense. But for myself and my 2 partners, we all came from the same shop that specialized in high volume color copies and B&W copies. For us, the switch of focus made sense. We also have all decided that we will only get into...
When we first started our business we had the idea that we would be a "Sign Shop" first and anything else we wanted to get into came after that. Well, as it turned out the printing/copy side of the business has been by far the biggest money maker for us. We finally found a SOLID used copier...

Thanks and I agree... pretty much anything that has been left for more than 8+ days could have real issues if it wasn't properly taken care of before storage. I pretty much wont buy anything unless I see a print head test. It's unbelievable (or maybe it isn't) how many people do that to a...
