Onyx is able to do contour cutting. When buying a Latex 315 or 335 without the cutter, the Flexiprint-Version delivered with the printer is very basic. There are more enhanced versions available.

Have you tried to download them from HP through your profile library through the touch panel of your printer? I know they have a IJ40 Profile there to download, and some Grimco Media too. If your IJ-40 is transparent should not make a problem, color accuracy is not possible to get on...

Don‘t shut it down. Specially if you use white ink, but in 6 colour mode too. I know the machine makes the same noise if running or in sleep mode, but specially if switching off for more than a few days, you will kill the print heads.
