  1. Need Help How do you convince a local bank their logo looks like a DAYCARE?

Fat paycheck at the end of the job makes it all go away.;)
  2. Big rolls of material cutting, 7.5" in diameter Summa S2-T75

Summa makes TUR's. Contact Phil @ AirMark.
  3. I need new Large Format customers! I heard production houses are a good gig?

If it's the right fit it can be a good gig. Years back we did all the printing for a company that had lightning fry all their printers. They would send us files ready to print and bring us the materials. Got to do some interesting work and learned a lot about many different materials.
  4. Name This Fire Truck Font , any ideas?

We've been using Real Gold. They even have a chrome that's warrantied for 10 years. Great products and customer service is fantastic.
  5. Name This Fire Truck Font , any ideas?

    If it's Pierce it's proprietary.
  6. Mimaki

Okay. Some are expensive, some are not Some are on wheels, some are not Some are use solvent ink, some do not. Some use UV ink, some do not Some are large and flat while others are not. Some are narrow. Some are wide. Some are heavy. Some are for flat material while others are not. Some use...
  7. Tabletop banner stand

Marketing department at school wanted some made. Found we could get stands with prints installed for less than the stands from our regular suppliers. IIRC they came from Amazon.
  8. Contour cut with and without holes in Flexi?

Flexi will read existing Roland ContourCut files.
  9. Suggestions Zip Change Track to 2 sided ACM

What about Lexel or panel bond for vehicles? Lord's adhesives should have something too. Unless there's some new track I don't know about there's no way a rivet will work. It will stick through the other side and render the track useless. Same for any type of nut and bolt arrangement.
  10. clear glue for push throughs

Check with these folks: https://weldon.com Way back when I was working with acrylic I used their products. Mostly used the type that was like water and got applied with a syringe. Near instant bond and it wasn't coming apart.
  11. Roland SP-540V Horizontal Banding Issue

Everything except M looks good on the fill test. Odd thing is your test print shows M along with the other channels to be in fantastic shape. I would have suspected issues with K, but I'm not seeing it. Although Magenta issues can cause large color swings with certain files. Gotta be...
  12. Discussion Is it me, or just too much...............

This right here ^^^^. I'd like to add that folks have been buying yachts, boats and personal watercraft at record rates. I've been super busy the last couple years lettering them. Six on the books already with more coming. I like this new normal compared to what we were told to get used to...
  13. Roland SP-540V Horizontal Banding Issue

Fill Test is in the Service Menu. IIRC this is how you access Service Mode. Using arrow keys press Down Right Left Up. Then hold Left Down Right while clicking Power button. Might take a couple try's. Once in you have access to everything. Somewhere on Signs101 someone posted the service...
  14. Brazing aluminum

Nope. IMO I would only use the low temp rod for decorative pieces not structural. Too bad you're so far away. I could TIG those today.
  15. Roland SP-540V Horizontal Banding Issue

If the prints are good on the right but get worse as the head travels left it's starving for ink. Do a Fill Test and report back. If that's messed up then at bare minimum you need to replace the dampers. After that replace the cap tops. Flushing does nothing if the seal is shot. Homework...
  16. Delivering a cabinet to another state... Do I need DOT numbers?

A lot of it is a gray area when it comes to compliance. For me it was easier to be in compliance than the alternative. Forgot to add there will be variance from state to state regarding enforcement. Best to talk to the top cop for Motor Carrier in your jurisdiction. Weight is weight though...
  17. X-Rite Profiling

Yeah that's the part I can't wrap my head around. All this power at my fingertips yet a critical component relies on perception/subjectivity. What about creating my own charts stepping 5% of CMYK then reading with a densitometer? Wouldn't that eliminate guesswork regarding ink limits? I can...
  18. Having trouble finding someone who can make these brass plaques...

Didn't know it was that bad. Guess I'm fortunate to be surrounded with good fab shops. Waterjet, laser, multi-axis CNC the works. Found out the wife doesn't like it when I put aluminum blanks in the dishwasher.
  19. Delivering a cabinet to another state... Do I need DOT numbers?

Call it whatever you want but weight is weight when they start asking questions. Saying its just a pickup won't help. Matter of fact there are several states cracking down on the diesel dually's yanking those monster toy haulers around. If you live in one of those states and run 26001lbs...
  20. Can this head be cleared?

If it's an SP540V the K channel of the CK head gets hammered since it's the first in line for head strikes. Only thing I can think of is doing another head soak then try pulling ink through the cap top. Maybe try Artbots secret recipe cleaner? If that doesn't show any improvement its time for...
