With any HDU, you should prime, paint, and clear coat if possible. That will atleast give you some longevity.

Good Luck. Making HDU carved signs is a skill and it is work. If they are done properly, they are absolutely beautiful. If done half hazardly, it will look terrible. Practice, Practice, Practice

No matter what you would have done those customers are not happy. I have ended dealing with them, as we all have and you know that if it's not one thing it is another. Even if the job is perfect, they B--tch.

Ilove the colors and the look, but I too missed the net and had to look at it again.

We do a majority of our signs on HDU. I would use no less than 15 lbs density HDU and go with a quality supplier. It will hold up well if you go with 2" thickness. They come out amzing if done correctly. We sandblast or V-Groove our signs and they come out mamzing. Good Luck and let me know...
