  1. 1st post, 1st Logo

Now that you learned your lesson about clipart versus an original drawing in a logo (that being said I saw a common clipart bulldog in a college team's logo today ugh) You need to learn a few things about typography. While it might look earthy or organic (my fave word to use when trying to sell...
  2. First real sign

Here's a quick (no kerning etc) layout suggestion.
  3. First real sign

Next time post a jpg so more people can see. Are you sure you want to use that layout? I don't discuss pricing in the open. • Lustreborad can delaminate, I would re-think that and use Alumalite • Avery can come unglued...try Oracal 951 Love.....Jill
  4. Recent work

Not too shabby! :) And not too cluttered...and easy to read. Love....Jill
  5. 2013 Corel Draw International Design Contest!

Are you entering this year, Joe? :) Just so I know whether to even bother. Love....Jill
  6. close call

Holy crap! I usually get a lot of user errors when operating a tool but I didn't know tools had their own user errors (potentially fatal ones) Love....Jill
  7. The Shop Truck

The execution looks OK but as has been said to death BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH (which is how I think you read any and all tweak suggestions to the design, perhaps in a Charlie Brown teacher voice) I think your response towards Marlene is classless, kinda like your logo, have a nice life. *ignore list*
  8. Major news on the homefront

There really is an answer to prayers, my dear wonderful friend. I am SO damn pleased for you. The apple obviously does not fall far from the tree, your girl is just as sweet as you are. Much luck and lots of love. Jill
  9. Coffee or tea?

I drink two cups of coffee in the morning with a splash of half-n-half none of that powdered sh!t. Then I drink water here and there the rest of the day. I only drink tea when I'm sick. Love.....Jill
  10. Mexican Restaurant Rebrand

I like the first one best although the second is more corporate looking. Either one is light years ahead of what he had. I think the duller colors look classier too. Love....Jill
  11. Our Van Design Help

Both are very ho-hum looking (thanks HD for the jpg) The bottom one has more potential but there are too may small words and not enough "oomph". And a surfer in London is just weird and out of place. Hot chick/Union Jack something like that or a throwback to a Cecil Wade style sign. Love....Jill
  12. My Hero: David Smith

Not only is he one of THE BEST FRIGGIN SIGN MEN on the planet....he's a nice bloke too. And he loves pugs. Got to see him and his work in person a few years back. His work is just sickening...he's that good. Love....Jill
  13. Federal Government Suppliers - Is it a scam?

Maybe he's really Florida Man! I say run Forrest run! Love....Jill
  14. starting of logo

You can always change my good client's tagline: "Signs look sick? Call...The Doctor"
  15. starting of logo

Hahaha Dr Squash uses a scalpel to kern and dispenses Happy Pills to all the grumpy sign customers who ask "Is that the best price you can give me?"
  16. Sexual Chocolate

I got nuthin' but I did see this car on the way to Kennywood Park a few summers ago. Love....Jill
  17. starting of logo

...with a butt chin rather than a camel toe. :)
  18. Markup Question

Never assume that you are the only one bidding. Don't screw yourself by any means but in this day and age competition is just a mouse click away. Whether they are comparing apples to apples doesn't really matter, it seems that people only care about price these days. Love....Jill
  19. starting of logo

If you are known for a pro-wrestling name I can see why you would want to keep it (for local recognition) But I would lose the Dr. part it's just corny. Maybe go for a more tuff look? (this is supposed to be a squash with a wrestler mask) Here's a fast suggestion.
  20. Big Thanks from Bellwood, Pa!

Hello from near Butler. We all used to have a wonderful sign friend out your way, in Altoona, who passed away at a far too young age. Love....Jill
