I have been told there is supposed to be another firmware release coming out later this summer to address issues with the lc/lm printhead. As to updated firmware again invalidating previous calibrations and profiles that remains to be seen.
As to enabling the 300 series printers to run...
Panel saw needs to have 8-1/2" or 8-1/4". It would be pretty unhandy to have to add a backer so that a 7-1/4" could cut all the way through, and then not sure how thick of panels could be put in the panel saw if you lose a 1/2".
I would like to try one of these blades in my panel saw but can only find 7-1/4" or 10". I need 8-1/4" or 8-1/2". Anybody know any other source of these kind of blades?
You haven't mentions what media settings you are using, but it might be good to evaluate if you need to use the lc/lm inks especially if your using 10 pass or lower. Seems the use of one lc/lm printhead is a major factor in the color consistency problem.
Have you checked, is there anything new comparable? I have a Seal 6100 ultra and have wonder what to do if I ever have to replace it. I also need an air pressure, double roller (2 in the front and 2 in the back) with 300 degrees on the front 2 rollers.
The more I use only CMYK with 10pass and under the more I find it not necessary to use lc and lm. I would bet that the 500s will not allow lc and lm in low pass settings with the highest ink settings. That might be how they will get around the problem of having the lc/lm printhead close to the...
Is this kind of a contradiction to what you said in the previous sentence.
I always feel that setting the static (manual) IP in a printing device especially anything that needs a lot of a constant bandwidth to be best practice, eliminating any possible network interference from DHCP attempting...
No, set it to MANUAL.
Then go to your router and there will be a MAC address with that IP address. Reserve that IP address in the router and nothing will bother with that IP address again. You will have a better connection that way.
You must have not read the threads on here about color consistency. Just because you are printing things that don't show this problem (or you haven't noticed it) doesn't mean others don't have different printing needs and have noticed it.
Yes ink starvation would be a potential problem if you needed lots of optimizer (not sure in most cases you would need that much), the same as we see now on the 300s with only haveing one lc/lm printhead. But yet they choose to only use one lc/lm printhead in the 500s. Go figure. I guess they...
That is another thing they could change in a firmware update on the 300s along with increasing ink density. I have been after them about both these things for a long time. Everybody else needs to call HP tech and do the same.
POP and anything that uses a lot of lc/lm. If using a lot of lc/lm you need you need to add inter-pass delay at 10 pass anyhow so you might as well run as 12 pass. And anything that needs higher than 120% ink density can't be run at anything faster than 12 pass.
Looking at the specs so far on the 500s it looks like if you usually run 12pass and higher there is no real gain over the L300 series other than the feed and take-up system. At 10 pass and lower especially 6 and 4 pass there should be some awesome speed gain while keeping gamut pretty high. The...
