I agree. Step bits are the way to go. It's like a center drill, drill, and reamer all in one. They work fantastic on both plastic and sheet metal. The straight flute design makes a very nice hole and is less likely to grab and ruin a hole.
I just applied some lettering to two mirrors with 8510 etched glass film for the first time yesterday. I hope I don't have any issues, but I applied it dry. I usually use the 8810, but this was specified by the customer and I actually like the look of it more than the 8810.
We use mostly RTape Conform 4075 RLA on 651 cut vinyl and it works very well. However, we also use the AT75 for some limited applications, mostly when we need to roll the decals up for long term storage or shipping purposes. I'm surprised that AT75 is recommended for cast vinyl as it works...
