Update:
Roland has been in great service since I've had issues. I'm glad because I love my freaking printers. I just don't like loosing money to issues.
1: Techs have been out and took a bunch of sample prints out to corporate to view after making adjustments to heads. I'm still having some...
Still waiting.
Update:
1: Before Roland came out, they said they were sending me a roll of cast vinyl to test (vs vinyl we use) and I haven't received it yet. This was 10 days ago.
2: When they made adjustments to the machine take up system, I told them that the heads were not printing right...
Update for everyone.
Roland tech came out and adjusted all if the structures that accompany feed and takeup of the XR-640. It wasn't 100% square as it should be.
He said he can't guarantee it's going to fix it but it was a big factor and he managed to get the roll feeding really straight. I...
Yes it's the SJ4. Trust me, it's not user error. You may have one that's perfect, but I wasn't that lucky. I am very knowledgable when it comes to roland printers from maint to linearization.
I'll update you guys soon. Roland called me today and we are working at a solution. I'm happy...
My other Roland's have ran flawless for over 7 years. My problem is the design flaw with the XR-640 feed and takeup system.
Roland has sent outside service techs to try and solve this problem with the XR-640 and dispite the great knowledge of the techs, nothing is resolved. I've emailed roland...
Thanks for the comment Player.
- I have other Roland's and none do what the XR-640 does with head strikes. All roller wheels are correct and the vacuum is fine.
There are flaws in the takeup/feed system that aren't being fixed. My issue is there.
Sadly.. I've been a faithful Roland User for 8 years and for the last year I feel they have been brushing a major problem off. If there is anyone else having these issues.. please post. I need to post this here because after months ( Over 8 ) of trying to work with them for a fix.. I have...
Well your not in AZ...
So..I emailed your design to the original designer and pending US trademark holder of the Zombie response team logo you have on your stickers.
Maybe they should sue you?

I thought you all might like this. It's something I came up with that eliminates the "well I didn't know factor" from clients.
I printed a bunch in metallic to have around.
Is anyone else running entire rolls overnight? I can't for the LIFE of me load the new takeup system without head strikes on a 150' run.
I've tried pre feeding media and checking for straightness. I can get it perfect but on a long run i get no love. Seriously no luck.
Too much work to not...
