  1. Supplier for SummaSign 750 blade holder

Depending on how well the previous owner kept parts together you should have a pen insert for it as well. Chuck the pen in place and run a test off the main panel. Press the menu guide (looks like a file folder) button until the message 'user config1' is displayed. Press the down arrow key until...
  2. I know it's gotta be faked, but it's still pretty cool!

I call bullfunky on this as well. I know the Turnigy line of motors in passing; one (or more) that would have the torque to flap those wings are 48v and weigh in at 3.46 pounds each. Even with LiPO batteries, it'll require quiet a few to get the motors running at their torque range. Where's his...
  3. Your Rides

Sterling kit, based on a VW chassis. The Coyote was a modified Manta Montage, also on a VW chassis.
  4. Your Rides

Daily driver & work truck '06 Chevy 2500 extended cab; my weekend toy:
  5. Feather flags, teardrop banners

Eh.. the only time I ordered from them (because they are somewhat local) the flags failed after two weeks - the seam at the top unraveled and the pole shot through. No heavy winds and the customer took them in every night. Called Tex to see if they'd fix the issue or redo the banners and said...
  6. Vinyl for stickers

What's the difference? You're selling stickers, not blanked liner. Nobody would care one way or another unless they recognize the 3M brand, then they'll think they got a quality product if they see it.
  7. Media Flange Thingies

I usually use them since a lot of my stuff is long plots. They help with contour cutting as well. If nobody has a set to pony up, order a set from Summa, part #391-510... expensive, though @ $75 a set.
  8. CarveWright?

To be brutally honest Gary, after spending a couple minutes on the site and outfitting the machine with the "signmakers" package and a couple probes, I was already over $2K. For not too much more you could get a basic ShopBot Desktop which would drastically increase your choices of materials and...
  9. Wrap vinyl?

I think you need to search these forums for all the posts available to you about wrapping. Then I think you need to go actually watch someone and learn how to do a wrap correctly before wasting expensive material on your first "victim".
  10. Are we really in a recession???

Where are you guys seeing $50M? I see $50,000.00 in the opening post. Either way, a good thing to have! Things have been relatively weird here - much busier than I thought I would be for the time of year... better than two months ago!
  11. Light table ideas

Built one years ago from 1x6 pine board, a plywood backer and a couple small under-cabinet fluorescent light fixtures wired together to a switch on the outside of the box. The top was 1/4" acrylic that I had sandblasted to a frost (could have used regular white but tried something different)...
  12. Dimensional/V-Carved signage...

ArtCam and EnRoute are pretty high-powered programs and you really need to dig into them to get the most from what they can do. For the bread and butter v-carving, I design exclusively in Corel and export the design into VCarve (Vectric's program). From there I can select which parts of the...
  13. Dimensional/V-Carved signage...

If I were wholesaling, I'd still want to set up the 3D toolpath from the provided vectors. The programs themselves will calculate the toolpaths, so there is very little maths involved.. mostly. With Vectric and I'd imagine EnRoute has something similar, you get to preview the rout before you...
  14. Does size really matter....??

Go get a 2TB drive at Staples for $80 bucks and move the folders to there. Setup your email program to save to that drive.
  15. Corian/Staron Routing

The Zund should be able to do it. Hell, I'm routing on a ShopBot!
  16. Dimensional/V-Carved signage...

Vectric is one of the best software systems I've seen, if you don't need the horsepower of EnRoute. Aspire 3 can go head to head with the best systems in my opinion, and the price is under $2k.
  17. Problems with my summasign D610

Right... your mainboard is still shot...
  18. Reflective Lettering Lifting

Um, no. Quite the opposite, in fact. Had a customer just last week bring his truck in for lettering. Had to reposition one of the graphics on the door - usually just a quick "tug and pop" (and, it was 44 degrees outside) - and the vinyl wasn't letting go no way, no how. When I mentioned this...
  19. Corian/Staron Routing

I rout Corian a little bit. Is your customer providing the material? A simple wide surface planer on the router will do the job - just take it a little slower and a little at a time - maybe 1/8" at a shot. I wouldn't use a planer as you'll risk cracking the stuff as you approach your target...
  20. Problems with my summasign D610

 Oh boy... sounds like the mainboard on the cutter died. Call Summa to confirm. Might be cheaper to purchase another cutter than replace the board depending on how old your machine is. Good luck.
