  1. Coro on a router

Never thought about a straight flute - I'll have to try that. Been experimenting with the spiral upcuts. A laser would be useful if I had enough to sub out - I don't at this point. There's less than 20 that I need to do. Same thing with a die - they're all different, so the investment wouldn't...
  2. Coro on a router

That's what I thought. Maybe it was the reciprocating knife I had read about... I've got several different shapes to cut and I hate the thought of using a cutawl or jigsaw to do these.. just a pain to do. Thanks for the suggestions, guys!
  3. Coro on a router

Did we cover this somewhere? I did a search but didn't turn up much. Has anyone been able to cut 3mm coro on a router and not have to deal with the fuzzies on the edge? I've got a bunch of shapes to do and I'd rather not deal with trying to clean the edges. I thought I had read somewhere someone...
  4. Production Table Top

Used to work at a place that had 1/4" glass for a work surface. Was great until someone dropped a hammer on it... At my place now I use the largest self-healing mat I can find (which is 5' x 4'); anything larger I use a piece of 1/4" pvc.
  5. might wrap a van for a radio station but.....

Contact their agents. Usually listed on their websites...
  6. Combining error

I'll be "Danned"... that worked! I've never heard of that before and have to wonder why it works that way. Makes no sense that the direction of a line makes a difference... As an aside, I only selected the "start" node - the arrow - and was able to reverse it from there. No need to select the...
  7. Combining error

Yep, no clue. I even broke everything apart and copied an element to another page and got the same error. So it must be something with the file, but damned if I can find it....
  8. Combining error

No, these are individual objects. What I was doing was re-doing an earlier client logo, changing a few elements. It was a "fresh" file with no previous edits.
  9. Combining error

Hi all, Weird issue that crops up occasionally that only makes a difference if I'm putting together composites: for example, I'll draw a square and draw a circle in the middle of it. Apply a color, say red, to the square and leave the circle as either empty (no color) or a random color. I'll...
  10. Will filiment knifeless tape work here?

Can anyone post a photo of an actual vinyl edge that's been cut with this stuff? I can't see anything but a ragged edge happening when you pull something through vinyl.. sort of like using a butter knife to trim, especially if it's hot outside. Just for curiosity sake, since I've never used a...
  11. mall sign help needed

This... looks like a pretty straightforward job to me. You need to find different channel letter guys.
  12. 2 thumbs up for Summa technical support

I'll chime in on that. Was having OPOS issues that I had actually posted a question on in the appropriate forum and not an hour later a tech had called me and walked me through the steps. That they actually patrol the boards here is incredible; that they take steps to make a user and future...
  13. Crazy buisness we are in

I quit halfway through. Dude... use some punctuation and take a breath...
  14. Somebody at Ford is getting a kickback

That's partially correct. Municipal vehicles going to auction must have all markings pertaining to "Police" removed, random striping can remain. Removing everything in one fell swoop saves on labor charges for removal by whomever is doing the job. I can guarantee they don't repaint the cars when...
  15. Removing Spray Paint from wrap

If it was laminated, probably. Start with lightweight removers - paint thinner, turpentine. Maybe one of the citrus based cleaners. Avoid anything with ketones, acetone, lacquer thinner... those will screw the laminate. You might even get away with buffing it off with automotive clear coat grade...
  16. HDU hold down issue

You learned the hard way. Hand rout the rest or re-do the job properly.
  17. Somebody at Ford is getting a kickback

Resale? Hardly. Most municipal vehicles go out to auction when their time is done. It doesn't matter how they're painted or not. But I do agree that a certain percentage is economics with the vinyl versus paint. Since I don't wrap, I can only guess that wrapping the doors and the roofline would...
  18. Somebody at Ford is getting a kickback

Has anyone noticed that the new black and white Taurus squad cars have wrapped doors and roof in white? Who's brilliant idea was this? All I can see is my guys scratching the hell out of the vinyl, like they do the paint, with their keys and belts getting in and out of the car. My locals hold...
  19. 1204 fabric banner tracking

Never thought about the outflow side. Good idea with the core, Bob, I'll have to see if I can rig up something similar when this job gets through.
  20. 1204 fabric banner tracking

Hi all, I've been attempting to run a fairly large fabric banner - it's the Optisolve fabric stuff, so it's thin and very lightweight. I'll get about four feet into the print (which is not graphic heavy) and the fabric will slowly start "pinching" in the rollers, leading to ridges and of course...
