If your on lighter or plain colored shirts, the new Sihl stuff works great. But if you try to go over a jersey or something with graphics, the ink from the shirt will bleed through. The colorprint material is the best I have seen to do those, although it is thicker and is really glossy compared...

I am using Solaris in my VP-540 and haven't had any problems so far. The colors are pretty much identical as well.

I am having very good luck with Solaris, you might want to consider switching to those.

Are the damprs with the larger screen worth the extra money? Where do you guys buy your cap tops and damprs?

I have a VP-540 that I have had for a little over a year. I was just wondering how often you guys change your cap tops, dampers, etc. I am not having any problems, but I like to do preventative maintenance before it gets that far. Also wondering about cleaning any optical eyes, encoder strips...

I had all kinds of problems with connectivity with mine and after a few weeks of trouble shooting they replaced the main board and it has been working like dream ever since.

I am wondering if anyone on here has or has used a Daige Liquid Laminator? I am looking into it for some interior work. I do have a normal laminator for doing graphics and stuff but I am looking into this for posters and things of that nature.

Anyone know or recommend a good supplier for the Seramark product?

You have to laminate everything that will be exposed to abrasion. I can't believe people would think this is some magic stuff that can stand up to anything.

I think I am going to pick one of these up, going on FrankenSigns recommendation. I will let you know what I think of it once I get it.

For those that use the Solaris cartridges, do you use the chips that come with them or do you swap them out for an OEM chip?

I guess to me that is not a big deal. I am pretty picky about the cleanliness of my machine anyways. I have been looking at the refillable cartridge setup that Solaris has.

So when you say that a bulk system requires extra maintenance, what do you mean by that?

so how are the chips configured that come with the cartridges? Or should I put a chip off of an old cartridge on there?

I have heard that Roland puts into their firmware to do extra cleaning cycles to waste the ink if it's not a roland cartridge in the machine. Can anyone verify if that is true?
