What do you think of Caldera? I am looking at getting the VisualRip+. I was given what I throught was a good price for a RIP. Just trying to decide between that and Onyx.
I would also take the VS as you can still have Lc and Lm to make it a 6 color printer where on the XC you have to give those up for the white and silver. If my VP wasn't so new, I would be upgrading to a VS! I heard the silver looks amazing, but just insanely slow.
Haven't had any problems with mine and Jack Knight1979 has used his for years with no problems either. People can call B/S all they want, but I think the colors with the Solaris ink look better.

I am using Solaris and love it. Colors look great, I am using the same profiles and haven't had any problems at all. Like with any ink you use, just keep it clean and maintained.
How does it work as far as taking the core and rolled up material off the TUR when you are done printing? To me it looked like you had to pull one end off of the machine, am I right?

My dealer sent me a paper from Roland that said that the warranties are transferable, but it has to be inspected, delivered and installed by a Roland tech to be valid.
I agree with Jack Knight. I have put test prints back to back and the color of the Solaris looks better too. If you go with a good reputable brand, and keep your machine clean, you shouldn't have a problem. I haven't heard anyone complain about Solaris on here yet.
