I ordered a T series 60" with OPS-Cam.
The D160 was starting to play up after 5 years of hard use.
Turned out to be an easy fix - a belt had jumped a tooth or something.
I'll keep that as a second/backup cutter.
Looking forward to the new beastie.
Thanks. Clients don't really look that closely at fine cuts to be honest.
It's more the production side - easier weeding & faster output.
We've never really bothered with flex cut on the D160 but might look at using the feature on a T.
We've had a couple of Summacut plotters over the years and while they've been fabulous workhorses, sometimes running all day for days on end, lately I've been thinking of upgrading to a T series tangential cutter.
Just wondering who has experience of both types or even the T series only.
We...
That's weird my colour didn't change noticeably when we upgraded.
It's almost like you're using absolute colorimetric intent where it changes the white of the background.
Could be many things. Have you checked profiles and rendering intents?
Usually you install Onyx version as a fresh install which leaves the previous one intact.
Maybe print this job using v11.
And this is why we never quote for removals... any more.
Once bitten.
We did a Sprinter removal after quoting just on pics once.
Turned out it had been wrapped with unlammed cast then clear coat sprayed over while it was on the van.
Quoted 2 days - it took 6 full days.
We used it for a while.
Initial tack is a bit stronger than other vinyls but once you get used to it goes down fine.
It's a more robust film than anything else we've used and when stretched will stay down.
Removals can leave a huge amount of adhesive though.
The bloke that works for me did his purple car in SWF orange a couple of years ago and the colour dulled a fair bit.
I think they started using a white adhesive on some colours to avoid this.
A look at the product data sheet would be a good place to start...
I think the point of the HP latex printers is the average operator in a sign shop can get consistently acceptable colour without having to know too much about colour management.
