  1. want to run another comp to my summa?

I also have a D-140 and you're right, it' a great cutter and you're not using it to it's full potential. The D-140 has both a USB and Serial port on the back, and you can hook it up to your computer and send data to either port. (I'm currently using USB.) I'm not familiar with how Signlab...
  2. iPad anyone?

I don't have one yet, but can see myself getting one for my son's xmas present this year instead of a laptop. Why? He and all his friends (11 yrs old) have the iPod touch. They text on it (FREE), use Skype for phone calls (FREE), jailbreak them to run more apps and games (FREE) and they all...

  5. business card stock

You don't mention what part of Ohio you're in. Here in central Ohio we have Paper Plus (Unisource), Arvey's, Millcraft, Xpedex, etc. You want AT LEAST an 80# card stock or it's going to feel like junk. As others have mentioned it's better to sub these out. Business cards are pretty much a...
  6. If your not growing, your dying.

Farmboy, you don't have to explain anything to me. I would count myself with you as I am no business guru either. However, I've met and know a lot of business owners in my lifetime and the successful ones seem to always have 1 thing in common. They realize they can't be experts at everything...
  7. If your not growing, your dying.

I started my company as a side business which has evolved into full time. Now entering my 3rd year and have been growing, but wondering if it's enough. Seems like the investments in equipment, software, facilities, etc. keep a lot of money from reaching my pockets but I have to remember they...
  8. How honest are you?

Like T3 my background was/is printing. I come from the offset world and have experience in: -lithographic camera (PMT's, negatives/positives, exposing plates, etc.) -flatbed and drum scanners -mechanical stripping -mechanical paste-up, (used a waxer - anybody remember those?) -Set a...

  10. HELP - 1204 print issue 1440x1440

Was printing a 4x8 on IJ180 yesterday using the IJ180 1440x1440 profile from Wasatch and noticed a problem. (In this mode the printer is printing uni-directional) The background of the print was a dark olive green and every few inches I would get these dark "stripes" or ares in the print. No...

  12. Caveat Emptor: (Thinking of buy Wasatch Softrip?)

I've only been a Wasatch user since last year. I currently have a service contract, and they've helped me on numerous occasions - BUT - I also did sense something in their attitude. A bit of arrogance perhaps, almost like I was bothering them. It wouldn't hurt them to brush up on their people...
  13. Cutcontour, Flexcut in Wasatch?

You only had an install file, not a CD? I thought Wasatch only came on CD...

  15. Roland CAMM-1 CM-400 - Has anyone heard of this? Impressions Needed

Seems a bit pricey for that old of a cutter. FWIW - I just sold my CX-400 for $1250 and it was like new. I would try to haggle the price down or keep looking.

  18. When buying a used SP-540

Being anxious is the easiest way to get yourself into big trouble with a used piece of equipment. As others mentioned $7k is a great price -IF- everything is 100%. NEVER buy a used printer unseen or untested unless it's coming with a guarantee from a well-known and trusted vendor.
  19. just 2 questions

I run my VJ-1204 with Wasatch Softrip. It's on a dual P4 Dell with 4GB ram. As for sitting idle, most everyone will tell you the best advice is don't if you can help it. That said, I turn my printer off every night and leave it off all weekend. Other than a quick clean the next morning it...
  20. Wasatch printer/cutter question

For kicks, I just opened Wasatch and looked under my profiles and that cutter is not showing in mine either...I am running 6.6 which is the newest version. Says it is supported on their site, but neither of us have it in the profiles. Need to give them a call.
