After I did my first set of black patch tests I set one patch as RGB 0-0-0 and used the RGB workflow in the RIP and was able to get the best black out of the RGB patch. Not 100% inkjet black like the calibration patch but better than any CMYK black.
While RGB will work with jobs I create there...
Just wonder what others are finding.
On the previous halftone addressable latex printers I could set the RIP to print 100% un-profiled black and get a really nice rich black.
On the L360 the calibration target the black is the same nice rich black. What I haven't been able to do is print that...
It is alright for keeping printer calibrated but for profiling it leaves a lot to be desired. The problem is really the profiling engine built into the printer, but it maybe good enough for some uses but it does limit gamut over what good profiling software will do. If you can use the onboard...
Total ink limits are usually something you have to visually do. Not sure there are any RIPs that can really do this using a spectro. Colortools in Fiery XF has a routine to do this but you have got to be close in your initial settings for it to work, but it has no way to take into account the...
Some times I do have to reboot it just to make the touch screen usable. Probably more like the Windows OS than I realize.
"great in responsiveness" is certainly not what I would describe it. I'll try the file system check if that doesn't change anything I will be calling tech.
I trying to decide if my printer has a problem while it is still under warranty.
The touch screen seems really slow and very unresponsive (subjective I know) so much so that I find it really frustrating. So I am wonder what others are finding?
Are you using the S version of Phototex?
Be careful not to over-ink when you are making you Linearization-Ink limit-profiles. I have noticed those kinds of issues with Phototex if you throw too much ink at it.
Check to see if you have a choice of light condition settings either when making the profile or in your CM settings when printing. Or maybe it is your shop lighting that is making your grays look magenta. Take them outside and look at the grays.
If I recall correctly from when I was testing Caldera you have to create a new profile for each resolution you want to print at. You can't change resolution of an existing profile for the L360. I think that is pretty much standard for all RIPs.
But what happens when you download profiles from...
Really come on now. If you can post on here you can certainly look Flexi's help up on creating profiles.

I has been years since I used Flexi but as I recall it was fairly easy to create the Linearization, Ink Limiting and Profiles.
The biggest thing to learn...
This thread is about matching spot color or spot created from any measurable solid color. Not sure where you got that this had anything to do with halftone images.
I have printed fine art reproduction for years and you are right, all adjustments should be done with Photoshop. In this case the...
Spot color matching really needs to be done at the RIP output level. If your using CMYK or RGB then the RIP input level is being used. Turning color management off is not a good option either because you then loose consistency with multiple colors.
Your app might be useful for those not using...
That is very poor advice. If you have to turn color correction off to match color then your color management is not being done correctly. You shouldn't have to resort to printing out color targets with color correction off just to pick one out for a color match. What about the rest of the colors...
