  1. Christmas gifts

We give our best customers a tin of shortbread cookies, everyone raves about them, in fact some of our customers have ordered a few cases of them from us to give to their customers!
  2. Aluminum extrusion question

Thanks guys, I had a look at the Octanorm catalog, I'm not sure if there is anything in there that will work for my application, I think the existing sign is a custom job, so I may have to put on my thinking cap for this one. Thanks Again
  3. Print heads

Avoid that website, remember if it looks too good to be true...
  4. Aluminum extrusion question

I met with a good customer today and they are looking to have a sign made for their front lobby, they showed me a sign at another location that they want to try to copy the look of. The sign is circular in shape, suspended from the ceiling, it has an aluminum extrusion on the top & bottom, with...

We give our UPS driver a tim hortons gift card every christmas, $20 i think. Our UPS guy does go above and beyond for us, he will come back later in the day after his scheduled pick up if we tell him we have another order that is almost ready, he brings the packages into our shop for us, no...

  7. Magic brand Postermax sticking

Of all the times I've called a supplier to report a problem with a product, I've only once had them tell me that they know about the issue, everyone else has told me they have never had complaints. I would say to just continue to complain to your supplier, and get credited for the portion of...
  8. yousendit.com YOU SUCK!

I've used yousendit a bunch of times, i've never even been asked to enter my credit card, was the file you sent larger than the limit for a free account?
  9. Quote for 2000, 5000 & 10,000 Bumper Stickers

    your price sounds pretty reasonable.

To tell you the truth i'm not sure, I've never had an order come in that was obviously short and I'm not about to count out 1000 pens/business cards/lapel pins lol! in 18 years we've never had a customer come back and complain that they were shorted, so we've never thought twice about it...
  11. What would you do?

5% over/under run is pretty standard in the promotion products industry.
  12. Ridiculous service!! Not Happy!! How do I handle this??

do a search for sign warehouse on this forum, they don't have the best track record when it comes to customer service.
  13. Cutting Oval from Sintra Help!!!

a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade should do the trick. Also, if you want the edge to be perfect, make up a template from MDF, and use a flush trim bit with a hand router.
  14. AutoMark: The definite answer

To answer your original question, we've used a bit of automark, but never for a full wrap. If you are looking for a long term product, I would look elsewhere, it does shrink a bit. There are other vinyls out there except 3M that will do the job, Oracal has a nice wrap combo, as does avery...
  15. Store front graphics

I always explain to customers that we have to cut the vinyl back from the edge gasket slightly as it never sticks properly, none of them have ever had an issue with it when it was done, you don't even notice. If they insist on going right to the edge against my better judgement, no warrantee
  16. Reasonable percentage for "Finder's Fee"?

I would consider 15% to be fair, as long as the offset shop doesn't need to do anything other than send the customer to you.
  17. New Printer Question

Interesting. This is the first I've heard of this. I would have thought that the ink pumps, dampers etc would keep the pressure even? Not saying I agree or disagree, just that i've been here a while and never heard of this before.
  18. New Printer Question

Hey Guys: As most of you know, we suffered a fire at our shop that claimed all of our equipment. I'm in the process of gathering info on new equipment. We've decided to go with a VS-540 machine, I was wondering what the advantages would be to going with the CCMMYKLcLm setup over the dual cmyk...
