Thanks John! I have bought items from Signs in China before and was happy but a printhead is a costly item if it's a paperweight. Fedex shipping says 5 days which is quite amazing. They do seem to have a US warehouse so that must be the difference.
The $1600 I mentioned is Canadian dollars but...
I'm looking for a printhead for my old SP540V and I'm wondering if these ebay ones are legit. 100% Original and New Roland DX4 Eco Solvent Printhead-Part No:1000002201 | eBay
Has anyone here bought one and if so... what did you get? They claim it's an original part and I'm thinking Paypal...
I had to replace my sensor board. Now if I get an error it's fluff on the sensor or I forgot to burnish the lam over the marks.
I always use the cut sheet function before I print the job so I can just line the front edge of the sheet up when I re-load after laminating.

Whoops! I forgot to click "selected only" when I made that jpeg.
Thanks for looking striper. I found a free font (on Dafont) named Whitin that was close enough to modify for the MG Company part. The "S's" from Fustian aren't quite right for the rest of the text so I just need to fix that and...
This is the VIN plate off my 1958 MGA. I need a new one for the restoration and the ones available don't have the etched lettering. I'm going to make my own with photo resist masks and acid but I need a to make a file to work from first. I found Fustian was close enough to the non serif font...
I was printing just fine and all of a sudden I no longer get black. I get dark green instead. I did a picture test print and some cleanings and saw no improvement. The other test print ... the tiny test print with the little lines... shows a couple of rows of magenta in the the yellow row. Blue...
I still like my 100 watt Bodor CO2. I only cut balsa, ply and acrylic with it. They say it engraves but I haven't used that feature. They were great to deal with back when I bought the thing 2 years ago.
The company I hired to get the laser here was Coles International. They were great too...
Thanks Mike. I'll dig around a bit and see if I can find the correct profile. The profile I selected is light years better than the one I was using but I expect the proper one would be better still.
Adrian
I've been trying to get what I see on the monitor to be the same as what comes out the printer. I've made some good progress and the trick seems to be inside the little box attached as a photo to this post. I tried quite a few of the profiles in this box and the one highlighted is the best so...
I am looking for a sub. If I can't find one I will try some things on my laser. It's 70 x $50/sign so $3500. I can cut 50 in my laser at once so I would push "run" and go have a coffee.
Adrian
I was going to see if I could sub them out to the guy in Toronto, not buy the machine.
If I were to make them in house I'd use my laser cutter and the little BB's they sell for this. I can inlay .060 black styrene lettering into .032" white styrene. By using different thicknesses the lettering...
