I think the router would shake the crap out of the laser tube, mirrors etc. not to mention the dust.
My laser was under $5000 delivered to my door. I suspect you could buy a router for even less. I'd get one of each.

I plan to go around each rivet with the squeegee and post heat them. I found it stuck them down tight and I didn't need to poke a hole. The Rollepro makes getting the graphic on pretty quick.

Artbot wins! But I have the slickest wheel/lock setup. My table lifts up 1/2" onto wheels when I step on a foot pedal and automatically latches there. Then I can roll the table to where I need it. Another step on the pedal, release the latch and the table lowers onto its legs. Nice and stable...
These were practice runs John. I think I got it pretty hot but the trailer was cold. I can't get the trailer or the shop much warmer than 60 degrees. It's the customers shop and they just don't heat these places very well. I suspect it would work a little better in the summer. Not an option...
I just tried out the Rollepro on a trailer with rivets. The thing seems to work great but it does not seal the rivet down absolutely all the way. I can't find close up pictures anywhere so I took some. Am I doing this right?
Are the rivets pictured installed as well as the Rollepro can do it...
I just noticed the two outer wheels only press into the vinyl for the outer 2/3rds of their width. A quick Google revealed that this is due to the outer rollers being conical. It sure looks like all the rollers are pressing down with the same force.
Adrian
Thanks for the suggestions. I used all the rollers. I looked for cracks in the removable roller brackets and found none. I'll check the non removable ones. The wheels leave the same appearance in the vinyl so I think the pressure is pretty close but I will check.
There is do discernable error...
Thanks for posting. The encoder strip is new. I have not checked the accuracy of a printed square.
The thing is I can see the media is running off track because the wheel tracks are visible in the silvering on the laminated print. I will look into the down force adjustment and new rubber...
Thanks Guys. The grit rollers look and feel fine. The rubber rollers seem fine too. I slowed it down to a crawl and it was cutting a loose sheet... not from a roll. The lack of a downforce adjustment seems odd.
I think the evidence in the manual is pretty strong that these things track like...
As the title says, cant get this thing to cut an 8 foot long decal for the side of a trailer. The decal is General Formulations 230 with 231 lam. The rollers slip and the print skews. The manual is pretty vague about how big this thing will cut. Looks like about a yard by a yard to me... if I...
Dual card not second card. I was told that connecting the printer directly to the computer would be more reliable and give less trouble than using a router or switch. I can't remember what the second port is for. Internet connection maybe?
The computer is 2 feet from the printer.

Yeah... three hours of agony. I had another network related "incident" last week. Thing went "radio silence" for no apparent reason but I highly suspect a thumbdrive that went dead that was plugged in the rip computer.
I plan on connecting this thing directly with a cross over cable but I'm...
It just died again. Printed 90 % of a job and quite. Now the computer can't find it. "not connected" it says.
I'm about to lose a potential great new customer because I can't deliver the goods...

It works!!
I redid the voltage/sensor test I let it sit and dry until the sensor voltage stopped dropping (went down to 1.2v) and set it to 2.7volts. Tried it on some crop marks and it worked like a champ!
Thanks Ragnabrok! They will sign songs about you in my village for many years!
Adrian
OK... I did the auto adjust and it tried to find the crop marks!! Progress!! Thanks!!
Now I just need to get it to see the marks. I like it when a plan starts to come together...
I'm going to try a higher voltage setting on the sensor. The tech said to set it after the ink had dried for a...
Kinda frustrating. I talked to a technical service department and I just don't seem to be able to explain to anyone that the machine does not look for the crop marks.
It does not wander around looking for marks and give up... It does not look for them at all
Error code 0111 says to adjust the...
