  1. Is it or some other process?

That sample - it came from your area at one of the county parks. I'll have to do a little more research into the sublimation process...that sounds interesting as well. Thanks for all the input - at least it gives me some ideas to start with.
  2. Is it or some other process?

Pete, the signs are matte natural aluminum. They aren't lasered or subbed. I think Gino has the answer with the flatbed print and liquid overlam... is that one of yours, Gino?
  3. Is it or some other process?

That's what I'm thinking, but I'd like to have someone that has done this on aluminum to confirm. Then I'll check with the S101 vendors for some pricing!
  4. Is it or some other process?

Hi gang, One of my clients is looking to mimic a set of signs that are at another location. The signs are created with a process that I'm not familiar with - it almost looks like they've been direct printed, but I've never seen it on metal before. The signs are .040 aluminum with a dull finish...
  5. Utility Box Wrapping

What's powder coating got to do with it? Or did you mean that the paint is starting to powder? Clean as necessary and bid the job accordingly.
  6. liquid laminate

Clearshield here as well. For really big stuff I'll shoot an automotive clear. Same flexibility and far more durable.
  7. applying high intensity sheeting to metal sign blanks

Why not simply order pre-sheeted blanks? Or are you doing custom shapes?
  8. Beachfront house sign before and after...

Looks good to me! Did you prism rout the copy then apply it to the woodgrain, or was that done all at once?
  9. Boat Transom Distortion?

I think you're making this way harder than it needs to be. Letter it like anything else and match the arc horizontally of the transom if there is one. The photo in #7 does just that - the letters are not distorted to read "correct" when viewed - why would you do that anyway? Once the boat is in...
  10. Picking handles in X5

Ooohh.... didn't know you could do that! Definitely a to-do item. Thanks!
  11. Charger Police Squad Skin

It's probably an either state to state or municipality requirement. There are no national requirements for police vehicles to be reflective. I have a couple municipalities that request no reflective as a) it saves money and b) they can hide easier. My local uses reflective only on the front...
  12. Picking handles in X5

Guess I should have followed up... yes, the lines were curves. I tried restarting per Signage' instruction and still had the same issue. I think I need to fine-tune the pick tool to smaller increments - if I zoomed in close to the section I was working on, I was able to pick the handles a little...
  13. HELP! Hardcore stripe removal

Other than the oils in the paint and thinners re-activating some of the adhesive and possibly causing a failure.. no. I'd rent a hot pressure-washer setup and blast the stuff off. Why take a chance?
  14. Onsrud, Belkin.....?

Hartlauer is selling Onsrud, but I haven't compared prices recently. I've always used Onsrud bits for aluminum and plastic, White bits for pvc and hdu.
  15. Picking handles in X5

I will try that! Thank you!
  16. Picking handles in X5

I've been trying to edit a graphic using the nodes around the form. I can pick the individual nodes, add and subtract nodes, but I can't for the life of me grab any of the arrow "handles" to fine tune the line. I'm working in Win7 if that makes any difference. Is it me or something with the...
