What's powder coating got to do with it? Or did you mean that the paint is starting to powder? Clean as necessary and bid the job accordingly.

Clearshield here as well. For really big stuff I'll shoot an automotive clear. Same flexibility and far more durable.

Why not simply order pre-sheeted blanks? Or are you doing custom shapes?

It's probably an either state to state or municipality requirement. There are no national requirements for police vehicles to be reflective. I have a couple municipalities that request no reflective as a) it saves money and b) they can hide easier. My local uses reflective only on the front...

Other than the oils in the paint and thinners re-activating some of the adhesive and possibly causing a failure.. no. I'd rent a hot pressure-washer setup and blast the stuff off. Why take a chance?

Hartlauer is selling Onsrud, but I haven't compared prices recently. I've always used Onsrud bits for aluminum and plastic, White bits for pvc and hdu.
