  1. Quiet CNC?

Which Hitachi do you run, Tech? Doing a quicky search it looks like most of the new models would be a pain to reduce to just the motor assembly.
  2. Telling a Client you would no longer like to work with them on Future projects

"I'm sorry, due to delayed payments from your company, I feel that I may not be able to fulfill your expectations on upcoming projects. Please feel free to contact another company." That's all. If you have that feeling already, it's probably true. Dust 'em off and keep on with paying customers.
  3. To Protect the Innocent...............

D Sings! What tune? Doing a quicky web search revealed a D Sign near Pittsburgh... but no website. Pity....
  4. What to do.... oh, what to do..........................

Geez, Gino.... that there is some good food for a food pantry. They probably aren't the same birds as years progress, they just get used to feeding in one spot. Short of someone with a nice accurate air rifle (hint), simply run towards them with an air horn when they gather. A day or two of that...
  5. Fluted Sign Post

Looks custom. You can build one using off the shelf pieces from Fypon and other exterior molding manufacturers.
  6. Gerber 4b

If memory serves, the lmk goes in the second slot, the card with the wire in the first. But it's been 20 years or so.... dude... upgrade :-)
  7. Not trying to impress anyone or anything,

:-) Me too... and I only spent $30.00 in my little VW Cabby....
  8. he says "sign companies, they are all thieves" ...and what do we say?

He's just a marketing shmuck catering to only dentists. Interesting concept, though. Kind of a captive audience. So going to his FB page isn't really knocking dentists in particular - just him as a marketer.
  9. Great Guy

Ever heard of the saying 'never go into business with friends or family' ?
  10. Computer gurus - attack!

Yep, doing that right now, Joe!
  11. Computer gurus - attack!

Yep, I can get into the task manager and upload files from an uninfected computer per BC's instructions. So far, so good. That's a nasty little bug... stay tuned.
  12. Computer gurus - attack!

Got bit by a nasty virus "XP Anti-Virus 2011" a few minutes ago. Downloaded instructions from Bleeping Computer to combat; just wondering if there is anything else I can do.... Thanks!
  13. Internet Speed Test 20MB!!?

Seems to vary a little, though. Tried it twice and got two different results... though the second time was the quickest:
  14. Just how thick?

I'm sure it's not the same thing, but a buddy of mine builds X aircraft as a hobby. Almost all of them are in kit form and very well made (and a well known manufacturer), and those skins aren't more than .020. The aluminum grade was stamped on the panels, but I don't remember what it was.
  15. Industry Topic................

 Take your pick, Arlo! http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/cat.php?id=5
  16. Gold leaf "heritage"

Ok gang, with the price of gold still through the roof and pressure from rising prices on petroleum based stock, I'm curious to what everyone tends to use for their leaf. I usually use the Italian leaf (Manetti) which is now pushing $1K for a pack, at least where I purchase it. I just...
  17. Industry Topic................

Very interesting topic of discussion. Let's throw another bone into the fire: what, in the current world of clipart (and limit it there) is truly "new and original"? How easy would it be to pull up just about any generic piece of artwork and not be able to find components of said piece in...
  18. Boat Vinyl

What, the dark blue gelcoated stripe? I'm not sure that matte anything will hold up to a marine environment. After all, once they put the dock bumpers down - if they use them - anything those bumpers touch is going to be rubbed to a semi-gloss. You're right about using a laminate on it, and a...
  19. For PA'rs - contractors numbers

That's what I figured. I hadn't been mentioning it to my customers basically because I just never thought about it for their signs. That, and as Gino says, just following what the customer ordered, essentially. What day are you going to the show, Gino? I should try to get there, if not just to...
  20. For PA'rs - contractors numbers

Hi gang, Oddly, this is the first I've had to think on this. My regular contractors who order yard signs and such haven't mentioned putting their license number on their signs, just their trucks. After checking the PA website, the law states "that registration numbers must be included in all...
