  1. Vinyl graphics over bumper strip on car

It's a food service guy with a chef's hat holding a covered plate, running. Isn't that obvious? :-)
  2. Help w vinyl cutting

Start simple - is your plotter and computer 'talking' via the same port? Most plotters require a specific port or IP address to work with the host computer - make sure you have those settings correct. Search whatever paperwork you have to see if there were any notations to that effect. I don't...
  3. Color Core ... Color

Did you call King? They may have a record of any other customers with that color, otherwise your SOL. They'll do a custom run, but be prepared to spend the bucks and the storage facilities needed for the load.
  4. Too high for me!

I only started to pucker when they said "only 60 more feet to the top".... and really, crash helmets aren't going to help you in that job...
  5. Polish for vinyl

Yep - just a couple of passes with a heat gun or a spreader tip torch will even the finish.
  6. 3D Printing

Actually, less than you think if you don't need to do big stuff: http://www.makerbot.com/
  7. OPOS not recognized?

It's part of the new(er) WinPlot downloadable from SummaUS. When loaded, it shows in Corel as an icon window with WinPlot on one side and "OPOS XY" next to it. Nice little feature with one problem: the plot is limited to 48" long by about 26" high, at least on my machine. The plot I was trying...
  8. OPOS not recognized?

No laminate on these. I did talk with Summa tech and he asked if I had downloaded all the programs - winplot, cutter tools, cutter control, etc... which I had, except for the one that automatically places the OPOS reg marks around the graphic. Did that, re-printed the decals and tried again...
  9. OPOS not recognized?

Hi gang, I've got my first order for a bunch of decals to cut on my T750. I've had this unit for years and never really had a use for the OPOS until now. I've downloaded the cutter control and Winplot, and I usually plot from CorelDraw in X5 for background info. Through the Summa cutter control...
  10. WinPlot vs CoCut

Right. WinPlot is a very basic cutting program specific to Summa. I've used both and truthfully, either works for me well. I don't need all of CoCut's plug-ins... everything that I need to do and/or cut I already have done in Corel, so CC is just another program to achieve an end. As you've...
  11. Huge oversized "brick"

Bingo. Even our local Home Depot has sheets of white poly for insulation, though it would take quite a few to glue up to that size.
  12. Japanese bikes have nothing on a D rake chopper

 stupid is as stupid does.... nothing like putting your life and everyone else on the street in danger.
  13. Direct to vehicle printer

In addition, printed graphics is easily removed with acetone without body damage, and rewriting is also easy. Uh, no. Especially if there is overspray on plastic pieces. Neat stuff, but how many people want to have their vehicles as test subjects?
  14. How can i install a sign on this store front?

That's a Dryvit surface. Like Skyhigh said, there is going to be an access panel either on the sidewalk side or from in the storefront to that soffit. There usually is a panel of plywood behind dryvit, but not always. If there is, you're good to go with long deck screws as long as the sign is...
  15. Laser Distance Measurer

Probably not, since the unit works on a reflected beam. You would need to calculate the sign size by taking the measurement from the bottom of the sign to the Bosch, the distance to the top of the sign to the Bosch and figuring out the height using those two vectors (basic geometry, but I...
  16. MDO unpainted

There's a company around here that actually "wraps" their primed MDO with vinyl... I can't tell you how many I've been asked to fix because it's peeling after 6 months. I always paint even primed MDO and seal the edges. Why wouldn't you?
  17. Computer gurus - attack!

Wow... I never thought my little post would spark such a debate. I have only one computer for my office and that's basically down to space versus necessity. While I did catch that bug, it was lurking on a trusted website that I visit often - even the webmaster didn't know about it until it was...
  18. Pillow Cut

Sounds like kiss cutting, using a die to punch out shapes. It'll leave a rounded edge on foamboard rather than the square cut you'll get with a knife. Any particular reason he wants this?
  19. Bit for aluminum composite

Sounds like you're moving too fast. A double spiral up flute should be fine for Durabond; slow the feed speed down and up the rpm's and see what happens.
  20. Microsoft acquires SKYPE for $8.5 Billion

There goes the end of free Skype use....
