  3. changing curve

You are playing with fire. That little job could land you in court being slapped with $50,000 in fines. Do not, DO NOT, touch a Harley logo.

  5. HELP with art work

Not sure what to say about this, but I'd say you probably just said yes to something you weren't ready to say yes to. There's no way that can be "cleaned up" to 72" wide. You'd either need to make it a vector (long time sitting with the pen tool in your fave vector program) or like Maniac said...
  6. lavainks.com - JV3 Dampers.

My own dealings with Lava Inks left with the feeling that they are nothing more than large scale scammers and produce only the lowest quality of products available, yet market them as high end. I wouldn't touch them with a 12' pole.
  7. designing new business cards

That is like 2 steps backwards, horrible fonts, and the outline doesn't help.
  8. designing new business cards

OK, this one is a start, but you still have legibility issues. The layout is pretty correct, how everything is balanced, but notice where the letters interlap, it's hard to ready them? Just for starters, add a black outline to the middle copy. And then on to fonts.. you could really use some...
  9. designing new business cards

Even though a slew of professionals are telling you that it isn't a good one? I know it's hard to accept, but some of the people offering you advice here are worlds above you in skill. 10. designing new business cards

Using it for a body text was a mistake, but eh... 5 minutes. And I wouldn't talk about typography Bob... lol
  11. designing new business cards

Only about 6-7 minutes so this isn't a finished layout, but just a quick example that you can still make a black and white card look somewhat interesting.
  12. designing new business cards

You still have to learn what design IS... as that card would still look great WITHOUT the crumpled effect, the crumpled look only accented the good layout/fonts. If that makes sense? You're going after the special effects before the layout. :) Sometimes a black and white card and look a heckuva...
  13. I need major help!!!!!!!

Maybe we don't do racecars because there's no money? It's still part of the graphics industry... I'm into dirt bike graphics, we average about 1000 kits a year. The more price gougers with no experience come into my industry, the harder it becomes to get that #, and more and more UGLY graphic...

    huh? Someone's been :wine-smi: perhaps?
  15. Do we need FlexiSign Pro for handling Printing and Cutting?

Flexi handles production pretty well, but it's no where NEAR worth $4300. Try Wasatch or CoCut Pro.
  16. Favorite Quote from a Customer Today

I love the gung ho dudes that come in for baseball or softball, tell you your stuff looks awesome and they can't wait to get a bunch of banners and signs.... and just as you start to get a twinkle of hope, they say "we're really hoping to just get them for free. You'll help us out, right?"...
  17. Why go with a solvent printer vs. pigment when using laminate?

WITH laminate, expect a solvent print to last 5 years. Pigment printers... expect a couple years tops WITH laminate. More like still... under a year. Unless you're talking like the thermal printers such as the edge.. those last great!

  20. designing new business cards

No offense, but I could care less. Obviously what YOU are looking for is NOT a good design. Now, I don't know you or what all you plan on doing with your business, but I'm going to approach this as if you were someone looking to be a better designer (meaning it's not going to sound nice). What...
