  1. Blowing up Digital Image

I downloaded and tested the latest version of Perfect Size. I used three images and resized them each in Perfect Size and Photoshop. I find no evidence that Perfect Size does any better job than what Photoshop can do. With two of the images Photoshop actually did better without any extra...
  2. the new seal el 54" laminator

Whats the price tag for this laminator? jim
  3. Large format color scanning needed

If you can send them I can take a digital picture of them. Much better quality than scanners used in most blue print shops and kinkos. I shoot with a 21 mp camera and can provide a 60 meg RGB image. jim
  4. Blowing up Digital Image

I have not test G.F. in a while, but I have never seen it resize an image any better than what I can do with it in photoshop. Jim

    Go pack!!!!!
  7. Group buy epson gs6000 genuine cartridge

We buy them for $199 with free shipping so $180 is not good enough to make us stock up.
  8. Epson GS6000 & Mimaki JV33 comparison

We had two Mimaki JV3s and now have had our GS6000 for almost a year. I agree with the media handling, mimaki was better and I miss the tension on the media that help get the media straight. That said, I would take the epson over the mimaki any day. We are not just a sign shop, we do a lot of...
  9. GS6000 take-up

Been running our GS6000 for close to a year now. Take up is not as nice as our Mimakis, but the print quality is so much better I live with it. I think most of it has to do with actually getting the media in the printer square as there is no tension on the media to help you do this. Sometimes...
  10. Lamination on Aquous ink

I have had aqueous inks outside laminated that are still up and look good after 5 years. Depends on material printed on, laminate, direction it's facing, angle installed at and so on. Also have seen some fade in months. jim
  11. 3m IJ135 and Gatorfoam

We wipe all our gator down with 90% ISO as per the maker of gator. Had similar problem way back with anything sticking so I called the manufacturer. Also, tried IJ135 way back and found it to shrink way too much, now use a lexjet product that is much more stable and less expensive. jim
  12. Looking for DSLR

I currently have the Canon 5d Mark II and a variety of lenses and would be happy to answer any questions. Remember when buying lenses that the consumer cameras have the small sensor and you have to factor in the 1.6x lens factor. Most important if trying to shoot interiors and such. jim
  13. Another Logo "Ripoff" controversy

I think it is too close and is not professionally acceptable to me. jim
  14. Looking for DSLR

Canon, Canon, Canon, all the way! However, size does matter! We do a lot of very large tradeshow pieces and the bigger the camera the better!!!! All depends on what your willing to accept. Can I take a image with a 6 megpixel and blow it up to 20x30, yes I can. Some images will work better...
  15. * Need to find true black ink *

One other thing... My base rich black on our epson solvent is C15 M10 Y10 K100, but differs depending on media a little and resolution.
  16. * Need to find true black ink *

In my opinion I would not consider fine are on any solvent other than the Epson. I have done fine art printing for yeas on Epson aqueous and the Epson solvents is the closest I've seen to the quality of aqueous. That said, if your doing fine art aqueous is the best choice. Brand of rip can...
  17. Epson GS-6000

I'm running a GS 6000 and love it! Thing prints great all the time! Make sure your take up reel is level with the machine. There is a green ink issue and a belt problem they've had, but service is here within a day or two fixing it. Even when the green clogs it still prints fine. jim
  18. GS6000 PMS Color Matching

I don't even use our colorburst as I didn't think the color was very good. We run with our EFI rip and stock profiles work great. Not every color is right on, but I'm pretty picky and its pretty darn good color. jim
  19. Epson 11880 Pattern Problem

Does the problem show up on only one type of media? jim
