We tested in on some of our interior metal wall in the warehouse and was not happy with the adhesive. Had it side by side with 180C-10 and the 3m stuck fine, but the lexjet was pulling off at every angle change on the wall. Would not use it myself! jim

Curious what problem your having. After having Mimakis for a couple years and having to fight the media comp all the time I have never had a need to adjust it on our GS6000. I remember hearing there is a way, but haven't needed it myself I don't know how either. What rip are you running? jim

It's been a few years since I last tested any of the third party masking plugins for Photoshop, but at the time I concluded I got a much better mask by spending the time and doing it right. Now, granted their are times that they actually work, but in those cases you can most likely doing it...

In my 17 years of doing imaging work I have found there are no short cuts that work as good as taking the time to either cut it with a pen tool or paint in the mask with quick mask. Some have tried to prove me wrong, but haven't seen anything better than doing it yourself with the correct tools...

Tested it a while back and did not really like it. I did get a similar product from Big Dog Media Solutions that so far I like very much. Printed a few test prints with it and have them on our wall. Only been up a week, but look great as of yet. Jim

Converting to tiffs does work well and eliminates almost all things that could go wrong. However, you do lose some print quality level in the vector information that is in the file. I usually only convert to tiff if the rip doesn't like something in the file. Now, for most sign applications...

Try the canvas from Big Dog Media Solutions. We print on their glossy canvas with our GS6000 with great results. Jim

Have been using macs for 20 years now and still think they are a far better machine than the standard PC. That said PCs have there place as well and they do a fine job for what they do. Still believe macs are better, more stable, easier to use and a better product. jim

Been running a gs6000 for almost a year with virtually no banding. Had a solid gray color I could not get rid of the banding in. For 99% of our jobs we print 720 x 720 with what would be considered an 8 pass bi di and have no banding. Way better than any of the 3 different Mimiakis I have...

Hire a professional is the right answer if you do not have the experience or equipment to do it right. It really depends on what the customer will accept. If they want true pro looking shots that are sharp and can be enlarged you need to have knowledge and equipment. If they will accept shots...

If you put perf on each side it will most likely produce a moire pattern. I would not do it myself. jim

Have you thought about the Epson GS6000? If print quality matters I would consider it. jim
