  1. Cold vs Heat Assist vs Hot Laminators

Hot lams can be the best choice for some graphics, including trade show displays, store graphics and such. However you need to be doing a lot of them to make it worth while.

  6. Laminator Poll

1/4" off for only 25 foot run is pretty poor in my opinion. Could never do a full roll at that rate. Stay away from any laminator with crowned rollers! If doing any hot lams you probably need to spend more on a laminator than a you paid for your printer. Look for a laminator that you can...
  7. Laminator Poll

At my last job we had a AGL 64i that I purchased and ran for 3 years. Price was about $27,000 at the time and worth every penny. We did a lot of hot lam for trade show graphics and banner stands with it. Also was great for doing full rolls of 180C with 8519, took about 20-25 minutes for a...
  8. Do I need Resizing Software?

  11. Best Laminator Choice...for ME!

  13. Tyvek printing ???

Tyvek is very nice material, prints great, is super strong and is recyclable. When it flaps in the wind it makes a lot more noise than vinyle banner. I've used both the Aqueous and solvent ink versions and both print great. jim

  16. Wow! I think I found my Software?

Color wise I'm not a fan a wasatch. Caldera and EFI Colorproof XF have both produced great color for me. Ran EFI at my old job on a Epson solvent and aqueous printer. The canned profiles for the solvent produced excellent color, but used custom profiles on the Aqueous.
  17. Best Black?

Going to depend printer, media and ink. You may find that 20C, 100K will work, you may need 40C 20M 20Y 100K. In general I like the Cyan higher than M and Y , but prefer just Cyan if thats all thats needed.
