a client of mine used some very cool looking textured silver metallic laminate, like you would make counter tops with... it was used in a manner similar to your usage, but i don't know where he got it, or if a shiny chrome is available... but maybe it's one more idea to try... here is the job...

I've never given much thought to my encoder strip, as I've never had any issues associated with it... but from reading other posts here, is this the black strip that helps an electric eye see contrast between edges of white media & the exact point where they end? ...I just though if solvent...
