  1. Tool to punch out slots in riders

You're awesome, looks like that will work. I will contact them, thank you.
  2. Tool to punch out slots in riders

So for years I've used Tapco's handheld nail slot punch to punch oblong holes in real estate riders 0.40 aluminum. It used to work and then the punch got dull and I bought a new one. The new one didn't last long and now both won't punch. I went to Lowe's to try a Kobalt one and it was worse and...
  3. Eco Sol Max 3 inks from Roland

I am way back on the VP540i. Probably won't be compatible with mine.
  4. Where can I get painted steel blanks? Everyone just has aluminum.

Suggest a new way of doing what they need. Such as velcro or a letter/sign track.
  5. Where can I get painted steel blanks? Everyone just has aluminum.

They are hardly used anymore due to rust issues and how heavy they are. A couple of places still carry them, but hard to find. Can you sell your customer on using Aluminum? It's better.
  6. Roland GX-24 Vinyl Tracking Issue

Generally tracking issues with all plotters of all brands are the fault of the user. This is providing there is nothing wrong with the machine settings or parts. The two biggest reasons for tracking issues are the following. #1. The user loads the vinyl is slightly crooked or the pinch rollers...
  7. Sign Auctions blow my mind

    You're an idiot. Case closed
  8. Roland GX-24 Vinyl Tracking Issue

Great machine, but appears to be a pinch roller error. I never have any problems with my GX-24, I've had mine for 6 years.
  9. Sign Auctions blow my mind

    Your so freaking funny... not
  10. are there any good 54" or 60-64in 110v laminators out there?

I highly suggest a SEAL EL 54. It's a 55" and it's what we use. Every laminate job is flawless and it's a work horse.
  11. Sign Auctions blow my mind

  12. Air Egress?

I've never seen one and for good reason. Usually the RA or AE has a block out layer / gray backing. Using it will block the light from shining through the translucent. I've never seen a material that can have that in clear adhesive. I've laid down by hand a 4' X 24' piece of Oracal translucent...
  13. Sign Auctions blow my mind

It is a shame. Too bad they didn't ask other sign shops how to maintain the equipment for auction or offered it to them out of auction.
  14. Sign Auctions blow my mind

A sign shop in North Carolina has gone to auction and they are selling everything from their Roland printers/cutters to laminators, heat presses, vinyl, furniture, etc. But what gets me is like their Roland Sol Jet 54" printer. It has 6 print heads, the machine has been turned off and the lines...
  15. What is a Sponco worth??

Cool truck, would be nice to fix up and use as a show piece, but for sign shop, not great. Throw it on ebay for $10,000 and see if you get some nibbles.
  16. How big does a job have to be to do an onsite estimate/evaluation?

Generally if it's about $100 minimum I will do a site survey. Why? Because I lose about 2% of all my jobs. I do the ones others don't want and am swamped with work. I have employees that I send out to do them anyways while I work on other things.
  17. Roland versa works Issue

If it printed like that, it's a layer issue I bet. I know PDFs hate layers, don't know why,
  18. Covering large windows solid black?

First time wrapping a window in black, I broke one because the vinyl was wrapped to the edges. Also I used a calendered vinyl. I've learned from that. You need to use Cast vinyl and keep 1/2" gap on all sides, don't cover the window all the way to the edges, you shouldn't have any problems.
  19. Video game trailer wrap

That is a fine line. Since it's not really a physical product such as building and selling the controller, using controller parts, selling Nintendo decals, etc. It's only part of a Nintendo item and I designed it myself by doing the artwork, which in a sense is my copyrighted work, however it's...
  20. Halo Letters

That is the chance you take when you don't do things by the book. But I don't support it.
