  1. Taking on larger jobs

Negative, the plates are over sized without any way of adjusting them.
  2. Application Tape Roller/Dispenser

Will do. I have complete 3D renderings already, but if I post them, then of course the whole world will get to it before me. But it will accept any size roll, squeegee as you lay it down, locked in place so roll doesn't fall off, laminate everything with one person and only one squeegee pass.
  3. Where can I buy this?

    wsdisplay or displays2go?
  4. Charging for travel

I only charge one way, 0.90/mi for van and 1.30/mi for bucket truck. If something is on the way there or back, I don't charge unless it's out of the way.
  5. Application Tape Roller/Dispenser

I am in the process of inventing a product that will solve this issue. Soon as I have a prototype, I will post it and see if anyone is interested.
  6. Taking on larger jobs

UPDATE: So the company built two 1" solid steel components to retrofit the new signs over two of the old signs existing bolts. However both pieces were way off when delivered and have to be remade, all of our equipment is due back today, so they will have to pay for a re-rental plus trips and...
  7. Taking on larger jobs

So I believe I am growing too fast for my own good. I've been taking large jobs from a corporate account of doing pylon signs at car dealerships. Yesterday we worked 16 hours to remove 3 pylons, the biggest at 35 feet tall. 3,000 lb sign/posts. We are using a 55' shooting boom forklift with a...
  8. Should i get this used panel saw?

Very very useful, I wish I had one. In fact if that one was close to me, I would have bought it myself. You won't regret it.
  9. Holiday Designs in Full Swing

I've never gotten a holiday themed job ever, not even a sign for Christmas trees. It sucks.
  10. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

Yeah and then it gets you excited, like woo hoo a $3,000 job! Let's get started! then you are told less and less, first it's letters across the sides and doors, then it goes from full color to single color, then they start taking away piece by piece, next thing you know it's a $200 job.
  11. Does anyone use Image Club 10?

Too expensive for me, I use better sites that everything is $1 - $3 each with no subscription.
  12. Need a supplier referral - cast aluminum bases

If I come across any others, I'll let you know.
  13. Need a supplier referral - cast aluminum bases

Not sure but they are great.
  14. Pulling electrical sign permits - Houston, TX

I'd have smacked him on the spot. I doubt any state code requires 12v to be in flex.
  15. Pulling electrical sign permits - Houston, TX

Really? Texas won't allow a sign contractor to do the final connection on electrical signs? That is crazy. Here in Virginia we don't require any electrician if it's existing and install light bulbs. Only for running new lines throughout the building. Heck Virginia also allows any sign contractor...
  16. Need a supplier referral - cast aluminum bases

I use these guys out of Florida, they have great products and the price is lower to sign shops. They sell for square posts and round. http://metalcraftindustries.net/decorative-poles-finials-and-bases/
  17. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

Anything to do with the religious banners to ship to other countries?
  18. Job pricing help

For that amount, I'd increase the pressure with a 60 degree blade and actually have the printer/plotter cut them out fully, wears down the cutting strip but worth it for large orders. With normal laminate I'd be at about 55 cents per decal. However with the special laminate you would need to...
