  1. Techno CNC vs. ShopBot

No experience with Techno but there is no better support for anything than the Shopbot forum and the shopbot peeps are great also. I have had 2 SBs and between their extensive tutorials (also Vectric tutorials- the software that comes with their machines ) and the forum I can get an answer to...
  2. double CMYK vs +LcLmLk

We bought a RF which, as far as I have been able to research, is a VS without the cut function- and is only available in 2x cmyk. As stated above a lot depends on what work you do or intend to do- we do no wholesale printing, only our inhouse needs. I am very satisfied with the RF. With 2x...
  3. Is it possible to make a diagonal selection in Flexi?

Thank you Matthew. This was another thing that I have wanted to ask about for years- I was needing it the other day and took the time to post. Gene

  6. Is it possible to make a diagonal selection in Flexi?

Never noticed that but it just toggles between 'fully enclosing' and 'touching'. I would like to make a diagonal selection. Thanks
  7. Alumalite Squeegees? Worth it?

Never hear of them but... sez 'It's what the pros use' right on the site. Not a pro I guess.
  8. Is it possible to make a diagonal selection in Flexi?

One of the things I was sad about loosing when we went from FlexiPro 5.7 to 7.x was the ability to do a diagonal selection- I don't recall exactly the key combo to do it now. We have a seat of FSP designer 12 now- has that ability ever come back. I was just needing it today and thought I would...
  9. Where can I find the CHEVROLET tailgate log as pictured?

OP is OK Artbot... he just has O.D.D. :Big Laugh As you get old your social filters decline and your cap lock and keyboard keys tend to stick down. And... point taken... the logo is already on the tailgate, but how about painting a © logo? If you cut it from vinyl or make a paint mask and...
  10. Where can I find the CHEVROLET tailgate log as pictured?

I am even older than you are OP- I can pay for almost anything I want... except attention. :Big Laugh No need to go all Donald Trump on me. We old pharts need to stick together in the home, ya know.
  11. Where can I find the CHEVROLET tailgate log as pictured?

So... If you paint it are you violating the copyright? Always wondered.
  12. Anyone here build their own CNC?

You mean Artbot- but he has a ancient ShopBot. You can get a good deal on the older SBs BTW- and probably better than you will build (the first time).

  15. Any Roland VPi Owners Have Trouble Getting At Heads To Manually Clean Them?

I did it for 5 years- kinda tight but it can be done. I lit it with leds under glass (solvent drips melt plastic).
  16. Making any money working for someone?

A good technician will usually make more than the owner in this kind of industry. This is not to say that the owner is not accumulating wealth (given that they are thoughtful ) but that will be down the road... if they do it correctly.
  17. which is better????

    Brown Sugar = Claudia Lennear
  18. Adhesive material that magnets will stick to?

I stepped into the powder room after posting this and opened a Signs of the Times mag to the UltraFlex page advertising this stuff. Nothing stranger than life. Thank you both. Gene
  19. Adhesive material that magnets will stick to?

I am sure I have seen this somewhere (seems like one of the mag sheeting mfg?) for a dry erase board application. I can't come up with the proper search term. Thanks Gene
  20. What are they called?

I tell my peeps that it is easy money (outsourcing) vs. hard money (actually producing the product). I have made a lot of hard money in my life... easy money is fun every now and again.
