I wouldn't have replaced the lettering free. The proof that there is no defect in materials or workmanship is the other side. Changing the parking position so that sun exposure is more even will be the key to longevity.
We use Avery A7/700/750 as our primary vinyl brand for calendared cut vinyl and do so because it's superior in handling and durability to the 3M counterpart (Series 50, which has a temporary adhesive). We have never experienced a failure like what is shown by the OP in 12 years of our existence...
Check how the white is specified. Sometimes if a color is specified as a spot color but Flexi doesn't have that color in its palette, then you get black.
If vector objects print with vivid colors but photos are off, it may be that in your RIP you don't have the settings for rendering intent of different image types set right. Different RIPs have different names for this, such a perceptual or relative or absolute or saturation or a combination...

Magic introduced a solvent printable wrapping paper in 2016. They discontinued it last year and have introduced an aqueous printable wrapping paper. I think that probably says solvent wrapping paper didn't work.
I don't have that model of printer, but given our experience with running stiff/thick materials through our cutter, you might try rigging up a flat output surface so that the print feeds out either level or slightly uphill.
