  1. Sand Text

I don't see how that needs any touch up work, looks very believable to me! :thumb:
  2. How Much Do You Pay for Foils?

Have you looked into third party foils? We bought a used edge about 2 years ago, and to date I have only ever bought 1 spool of gerber brand foils. For example, I pay $80 CAD for a 100 yard refill from duracoat, vs about $125 for 50 yards from gerber.
  3. Glitter Glass Background

I always see these guys advertize in SignCraft Magazine, never used them before, but it may be a possibility Solarray www.radiantmfg.com
  4. Clear over aged clear?

Ahhh that makes sense, i'm not sure if any of the liquid laminates used for signs would hold up long term, they are kind of cheap alternatives to a proper vinyl over laminate for prints, I don't think they would stand up on a vehicle. Most likely the graphics were "laminated" with clear shield...
  5. Can I FAX that to you?

We do a fair amount of work for trades people (electricians especially) who scribble what they need down on a piece of paper on the job site and fax it over, not the most convenient for us, but i'll take it.

  7. Matching Red Vehicle Color for 1/2 Wrap

  8. Just refused 2nd truck shipment of 040 Aluminum...Need new Alum Supplier ASAP

:goodpost: This, it's usually a lot less expensive, as it's not a specialty "sign substrate"
  9. think your Mon AM was bad..?

Exact same thing happening here, there was a story in the paper about a old guy who lives in the rough part of town, his back fence faces an alley, and it gets "tagged" on pretty much a weekly basis, he has always cleaned it up as quickly as he can, but now the city is giving him $300 tickets...
  10. Need Vendor for ADA signs.

C&C Engraving are merchant members on this site, i've never used them, but i've heard good things.
  11. Naming and shaming

Was this directed at me? I'm going to assume it was. I can't save $5000 per year, because I don't spend even close to that on OEM inks in a year, like I said, I don't print a ton of stuff, I understand if I was running huge volume, third party inks would be the way to go, and if you loose a...
  12. Naming and shaming

Out of curiosity, has anyone who is running a third party ink and experienced issues like the OP ever been successful in getting the ink company to pay for repairs to their printer? I run OEM ink, mainly because I don't print enough to justify switching. The OP's situation is exactly how I...
  13. removable wrap

http://generalformulations.com/PDFs/209%20METROMARK.pdf This should also fit the bill, as it's designed for removable wraps on buses
  14. Precise Cuts through Vinyl without a Knife

I really can't believe how much grief you guys are giving Wrapcut over this! you are getting 200' for the cost of lunch, 200' goes quite a long way and is a great way to introduce the product and let sign shops actuality see how it works and try it out in various jobs. I bought a roll about 3...
  15. Signs for Company A, Invoice Company B

This sounds very familiar! We got hired by a landscaping company to put up parking signs at a new school that was being built, we invoiced them, waited 2 months and were told to invoice the architect, so we invoiced him, waited a month and were told it's the Contractors responsibility, who told...
  16. Signs for Company A, Invoice Company B

Unfortunatly, if I do this I risk rocking the boat of my customer, who I don't want to tick off as they are great to us (spend lots of money, don't ask for quotes for every little job etc.) I think DDarlak is right, I just need to find out who is responsible at company B, and make an effort to...
  17. my outlook not working

Did you get the email i sent you late yesterday?
  18. Signs for Company A, Invoice Company B

I was just wondering if anyone else has come across any issues with this setup. Periodically we get asked by a customer of ours to make some signs, but to invoice another company for them (last job was a hospital that was renovating and we were told to bill the General Contractor as it was part...
  19. Never thought it would happen......................

:goodpost: This along with everyone getting their emails on their blackberry or iphone while they are busy doing something else, and trying to proof something on a 3" screen is the biggest problem. i hate having to ask a customer a question via email, only to have them reply with a single word...
