  3. Thoughts?

Simplicity and focused ideas are IMHO The most effective designs. I have a Helvetica approach to design which doesn't always mesh well with sign design, but thats my style.

not sure it works with the water going all the way over to the ladder. If you must use the ladder F try limiting the 2 tone letters to POOL.

  8. customer wants .pdf what would you do?

They paid for the design time, but not for unlimited reproduction rights. it would be the same as a stock image. make up a price and sell them unlimited licensing rights. it would be like, you charging someone an hour for design in which you made a sign that had a logo on it that you created in...

  14. Cloud Software - What do you use?

Instead of paying for a subscription we have created our own cloud. We purchased a mac mini server for a grand and put it in an undisclosed location far enough away from our shop to be considered redundant, and your local server automatically timemachine backups to the external server at 1am...
  15. Cloud Software - What do you use?

Fires and Robberies aren't all that uncommon. it took me, personally, 0 hours of labor to build my building, or purchase my printer, so I would just like to make sure that the countless hours of my life spent gathering fonts, stock photos and vector and then merging them all in to, dare I say...
  16. Cloud Software - What do you use?

It sounds like you are doing offsite storage anyway wich is what I was advocating. the only problem is that it might be too close to the shop. The biggest problem with restarting a shop after a disaster is not replacing the equipment, Insurance companies will take care of that in short order...
  17. Cloud Software - What do you use?

I hope none of you ever have a disaster at your locations; Flood, earthquake, tornado, fire, or electrical surge that renders all of your local redundancy useless. Much safer to have everything backed up both locally and remotely.

Ive had this problem before printing a grayscale image on canvas, that was converted to grayscale in photoshop so it had no color values but it was still coming out greenish. I ended up dropping the cyan and Yellow levels in versaworks to get rid of it.
