Not just dust. It's a plastic strip so very fine overspray will stick to it. -

HELP SP300V Printing funny, what is causing this?
A dirty encoder strip can cause strange things to happen. I'd start there, clean it and see if that helps. -

Graphic Designer
The Chinese had a hard time getting the directional signage correct in English for the Olympics. I couldn't imagine corresponding with a so-called Graphic Designer from India. Ever call Dell tech support? LOL :unclesam:- Mike Paul

gradient fill problem
I've had some vector gradient that didn't print the way I expected even when selecting the end colors from swatches. Rasterizing it did the trick and they printed correctly. -
