  5. Illustrator to VersaWorks printing color problem.. please help

If you're using the RolandColor spot system, profiling shouldn't matter. I'd bet that the colors aren't being saved correctly in the file. If you open the file in VW, and go to the <file management> tab, you should see all of the colors you called out as spot colors listed there. If none...
  6. misdirected anger at lowballers

There will always be someone willing to do what you do for less. There will always be customers that shop ONLY on price. It's up to you to find the ones who care about more than that. It's not as hard as it sounds.

  8. Cast w/cal?

??? I question why it's okay to go one way and not the other? You generally don't want to mix n match cast with calendared at all. They can shrink different amounts and at different rates.
  9. Wraptor, you need to Wregister!!!!

Paul, I really wish I had the opportunity to use your machine at ISA. Oracal just wasn't very receptive when I approached them about using it on the install. While the Wraptor isn't for everybody, I think it could prove to be a very useful tool for some installers. Expensive? Maybe...
  10. 240 inch pdf too long for versaworks?

Very simple. PDF files are limited to 200 inches. Just scale it in your design and you're good to go. We use 10% scale usually, so your file would be designed at 24x5.4". Then blow it up to 1000% size in VW. Just make sure that any raster elements that are used in the artwork are at least...
  11. Cattle Drive Vector Needed

There's a cattle trailer manufacturer called "Cattle Drive".. A driver once asked me to remake the logo with "Cattle Ride" because he's the one who's driving. I thought that was pretty clever. :)
  12. Our new toy!

Thanks guys. I wouldn't call it a toy either, as it sure makes our other printers look small! We figure it'll save us at least $3k a month in vinyl costs alone, not to mention the labor used to mount. You're welcome anytime Tom. How's the new printer running for you? And yes, we go...
  13. Our new toy!

HP FB950 Delivered on Thursday.. they started installing it today. Can't wait to get it up and running tomorrow. For months now, we've been averaging 7-10k sf of print/mount.. hopefully this will take some of that load off of our other printers.. and squeegees!

  15. inks

If you're not doing some decent volume, stick with the OEM. We run Triangle inks (bulk) in both of our Rolands, and absolutely love them. Then again, the machines get cleaned thoroughly everyday, average about a liter per color per week each, and have a duster sitting next to them.
