  3. Linear encoder strip?

...And be careful to keep the strip out of any wet ink, like a damp print or the sponge/capping stations. It's best to remove the strip by unhooking the spring on the left of the strip (turn the machine off before doing this). Next, use the capping station wrench to lower the caps, and slide...
  4. Roland Soljet Pro111 xc540

My first guess would be that you have a capping station issue. If either the Y or K aren't sealing correctly, the pump will not be able to pull any ink through either of the heads. This will make it not prime, and you can run cleanings until the cows come home with no change at all. When...
  5. OEM vehicle wraps coming from Ford

Matt, All bickering aside, I have a couple questions: From what I was told at ISA last week, the 3M Preferred test is exactly the same as the current UASG test, minus the company background info/onsite interview/referral check that the UASG does. Is the 3M Preferred test different from...

  8. whats wrong with my XC-540?

Make sure you're using a flashlight when you're cleaning so you can actually see what you're doing. Look very carefully for any lint or fuzzies on the heads and on the wipers. Be sure you're cleaning the wipers and cap tops every week too.
  9. Would your business survive?

Yeah, if there is no electricity in a major metro area for three months, my company is the last of my worries.. I'd take my RV out into the country to avoid as many of the crazies as possible and live off the land!
  10. where i can get chrome vinyl good quality

Look at the way the "vinyl" is draping off the hood in the first pic above. We use a lot of both the polyester and metallized films, and neither will drape like that. Whatever they're using is very new, as you all know as soon as it is widely released in the states it'll be on the cover of...
  11. This Will Blow You Away. Sneak Peek at The New Photoshop.

Jeez.. now every customer is going to expect us to use 72dpi images for EVERYTHING!
  12. Easiest way to make these?

Just screen print 'em. Stouse can knock them out for you quick and cheap. This sounds like a government job.. From my experience, most bids that go out spec a "3M or equivalent", so printing a transparent color over white reflective is perfectly acceptable.
  13. Customer wanted templates for Re-Wrap

Better hope the feds don't find out you sent over a template to their designer!
  14. That ink will void your warranty!!!!(*&*&^%

I actually had an issue with my truck about two years ago. My EGR valve let go and dumped coolant into the intake, which hydro-locked the motor. Ford decided it was my lift/wheels/tires that had caused the issue and voided my warranty. Ford has had many issues with their EGR system and has...
  15. Don't steel my coppper!

That type of stuff pisses me off.. My toy hauler was broken into behind our shop on Christmas. The jackasses broke a window and a screen, damaged part of the cabinets, broke the area around the stereo, ripped a sofa off the wall, and broke another cabinet. All to steal a stereo that probably...
  16. Prints are very grainy

I've seen issues like this when the encoder strip is very dirty. It's usually accompannied by what's called stair-stepping, which is visible on the edges of the print as the print actually moving to one side or the other on the media.
  17. Sign Expo In Orlando

Yeah, they pretty much switch between Orlando & Vegas it seems.. Atlanta and New Orleans were last year too.. I'll be at ISA this year (as usual).
  18. That ink will void your warranty!!!!(*&*&^%

Triangle has been very helpful in figuring out any issues. That said, we haven't really had any. A minor issue which turned out to be static--not even ink related. We have had numerous repairs that were covered under warranty, and not had any warranty claims denied. That said, if we ever did...
