Keep in mind we're talking wholesale printing here. Very, very different than retail.
We stock various sizes of various medias. When we print customers' jobs, we do our best to use the appropriate sized media for the job, and nest jobs as much as possible. To keep turnaround times tight and...
Shane has some very good reasons to listen to the manufacturers. I'll try to post some pictures of what we use to dry our prints tomorrow. It's a little more involved than what most refer to, but it works great.
A couple years ago, one of the mags (Sign Builder?) showed pictures of some...
Get a commercial machine. Try 35th Ave Sew & Vac in Phoenix. Ask for Oriel<sp>. Banner tape doesn't hold up very well and is pretty expensive. A decent machine will run in the $2-$3k range.
Jon,

There is a setting for periodic cleaning you can change. Press <Menu> and scroll down to the . Under the Sub Menu you should see an option for <Periodic Cleaning>. You can change this to any interval from 10 mins to 990 minutes. I'd have it set to run once a day in most cases.
I love it! We've got a little feud going on out our shop right now. It started with one of our girls shrink wrapping two of the installers' cars while they were out. Last week they put pepper in her water bottle--couldn't figure out why she kept coughing. To ease the coughing she'd drink...
We actually received more than last year. Probably about 50 so far. Sent out about 150 cards (You're welcome Border!) along with about 120 dozen cookies and candies that my mom made. We try to personalize as much as we can, but that takes a lot of time.
