  1. TypeStyler Software

Wow, a blast from the past. I have version 3 from 1999 on the shelf. Os 7 for the PowerMac. I think I might have purchased it for Edge printing as I was a MacImprint beta tester but in all honesty, I don't even remember using it. I didn't know it was still available. What are you using it for...
  2. Cutting Mountable Fabric with FC8000-130

"The key is to dial the blade to the right length." If the blade depth is set correctly in cannot cut through the backing regardless of the pressure setting. The blade simply isn't long enough to penetrate.
  3. What brand and colour matches pms 873c

That's going to be a tough one. It's almost a blend between copper and gold. I don't think you'll match it with any vinyl In the Gerber Sprectratone swatch book it's almost a gold/pink combo.
  4. Media Size Error hp 9000s

I get this often on mine but all I do, if I'm sure that the material is loaded straight to begin with, is lift the medial clamp and clamp it back down without doing anything else and it usually reads and loads the material like it should. It makes now sense at all and I have no idea why it...
  5. 2 sided static cling

It's fairly easy with an Edge print. Two colors, reverse image. Than white, silver, and white again. Than your two color right read print. Certainly more expensive than inkjet output. If the quantity justified it, I'd screen print it the same way but 150 wouldn't be enough.
  6. Graphtec FC5100 Looking for information to contour cut

I might be wrong but I think this has more to do with Flexi's requirement than Graphtec's. I set registration marks in Illy from Graphtec's CuttingMaster plug in. My, rip prints the file and I load it back in my FC7000, line up the knife with the first reg mark and cut via Cutting Master. Check...
  7. HP designjet 5000ps printhead "reseat" problem when replacing printheads.. Help

I used to have a 5500 and cleaned my printheads in a Branson Ultrasonic printer whenever i had some plugged jets or things weren't printing correctly. I probably got double the "normal" printhead life out of them.
  8. hp 9000 capping problem?

Are you sure that you don't need new seals? They do wear out and flatten so they don't seal tightly against the print heads. They're fairly inexpensive if I remember correctly and are very easy to change. You just pop them off.
  9. Will this work?

Split the difference and go with the 6mm coro. I use it for political signs all the the time.
  10. landline or cell

Landline here only. Phone, Fax and DSL. Same number for 32 years. When I'm out fishing I don't want a freaking phone in my pocket although every now and then I do find myself lusting after a nice iPhone.
  11. Foldable Fabric?

I have an OLD roll of Graphics Silk that I got from Charrotte. It drapes and doesn't seem to take a crease at all. I'm pretty sure that it is actually a polyester product. It comes on a backing paper and although it was an aqueous product, I have printed it on my HP9000s with good results also...
  12. Edge2 pauses during print, foil keeps spooling

I wrestled with this issue quite awhile and in my case, it was a humidity issue, or lack of humidity I should say. I have a small office humidifier that I fire up in Nov or December now and have never had the problem since.
  13. A Better Way to Print/Cut?

If you set the registration marks with Cutting Master before you print you should have no problem. I set my marks in Illustrator/Mac, save my eps or PDF file and print though Posterjet via Parallels/XP. I put the print in my Graphtec 7000-100 and line up the cutting head in the first...
  14. Applying Oracle Oralite 5300 - Issues

Dave, I'm not sure about the bubble issue but 5300 economy reflective I would not use on a vehicle. 56 or 5700 would be a much better choice for the body curves your applying to.
  15. I Need Start Up Software Recomendation

Graphtec comes with Cutting Master. An Illustrator, (and maybe), Corel plug in. You don't need another program to cut from or through.
  16. contour cutting help

One more time. Cutting Master comes with Graphtec plotters. It cuts directly from Illustrator and is totally independent of any rip that you are running. You can place a tiff or jpg or use a native Illy file. Set the registration marks with CM, save as an eps or PDF and print in whatever rip you...
  17. contour cutting help

A Graphtec comes with Cutting Master, and Illustrator plug-in. It set's the registration marks in Illy and, after the sheet is printed, you line up the first mark on the Graphtec, open the file again in Illustrator and sent the cut. It works very well and there's no extra hoops to jump through.
  18. Gold Color on Vinyl

Transparent gold on silver metallic works well on the Edge also.
  19. If you had the choice Summa or Inkjet?

If 90%% of your graphics are 11.7" or less, I'd go with an Edge instead. A wide variety of substrates and excellent cutting make it a decent choice.
  20. Cutting Magnetic Material

I've printed vinyl with registration marks and laminated it to .020" magnetic. I set up the file in small "pages" around 8" x 22" depending on the size of the individual cuts. I also put a layer or two of pre-mask over the bare metal of my FC7000-100 which helps the stock slide and not stick to...
