I agree on the font legibility, but I figured if he wants to set himself apart as a dance studio (He specializes in Hip hop / break dancing) then He might want something with a little more edge to it. I was hoping the recognizability of the logo as a whole would offset the readability of the font.

Helvetica was great. Gives a good idea of the dichotomy in design: Simple Vs. Embellished. The reason I like Art and copy so much is that it shows that Sometimes Designers just need to be trusted, and you shouldn't let a creative business be driven in to mediocrity by the untrained customer masses.

actually the panel I am replacing was white acrylic, with a white paint layer and I am replacing it with white Lexan

Thanks alot for the help. the panels are flat and the box is a foot deep w/ a panel on both sides, so it sounds like I should be OK with just the vinyl. It just threw me off a little when I saw the paint on the panel we are replacing. Thanks again

Everyone should watch "Art & Copy" for tomorrow. it is available instantly on netflix. It relates wonderfully to designing in the sign world or in any industry for that matter. When he says he has to drag people kicking and screaming in to being rich, thats how i feel about design.

My salesman at proveer left about 6 months ago, since then they have screwed up 4 orders almost completely so I just stopped using them. Luckily i have 2 other suppliers that deliver on Wed and Fri.

I would use a fixed width font such as Andale Mono, Courier, Menlo or Monaco these fonts will have the same thickness even on curved letters

I had never used paint before, but the panels we took out today had a white paint base under the translucent vinyl made me wonder if this was something I was missing.

I found that if you print roland spot colors with out converting the spot color and with the density control only color profile, It hits the spot colors. I would also try bumping your print heater to 50c. This probably wont solve the problem though since you already slowed the print head speed...

is the banding in the direction of the print head, or going front to back on the printer? you cant really see the banding too well in the pic.
