Start Summa Cutter Control (available from the Summa-website) Be shure that software and plotter are correctly connected by clicking on "Info" - Summa Cutter Control will load configuration infos from the plotter (if not, check the interface settings) Press the key combination "Shift - Control -...
  2. Write port error

Please specify the printer and connection type you use.
  3. L26500 sheet printing capability?

One Problem is that the distance between the printing area and the media sensor is higher than on much other printers. So you loose a lot of your sheet which is not printable. The next Problem is that the HP is designed to work with a fixed Y-Origin, which is hard to find when not rolling from...
  4. Roland RS-640 not Printing straight HELP

That symptom is typical for the encoder strip, haven't had any motor issue with these symptons in 17 years of roland support. If cleaning won't help, it could be that it is damaged. If this is the first time with problems with the encoder, you could turn it upside down.
  5. Becoming a Roland Tech...

If you think that the head replacement procedure is to difficult, you should let something do it for you. The procedure will not be easier with an other documentation.
  6. Converting sublimation to eko-solvent ink. Please Help!

On which media do you want to print on? The problem is: for printing on vinyls, banner and so on, a built-in media heater is needed. The CJ540 (Cammjet) regularly don't have one.
  7. Onyx 11 - Anyone else find it unuseable?

If installing Onyx 11 on a computer with installed older onyx, the installer copies the settings and profiles from the old version, but will keep it alive. I had some problems with that driver and profile conversion, easily handled by installing a fresh driver and reload the profiles only. I...
  8. HP L26500 & 3M IJ480 CV3 colour fading

I have tested the 480 on a L26500 and L28500, and have created profiles (Onyx) for both machines. The printing results are very nice, but I haven't tested stretching it. I know people who uses 480 for car wrapping, but have no feedback about that issue until now. Regularly, Latex should be more...
  9. Tips to profile Mesh banner

Will be difficult, because of the structure of the Mesh the i1 will fail measuring. There are measurement devices with a much bigger measuring aperture than the i1, perhaps they work, but I have never tested it with our Barbieri Spectro LFP (2, 4 and 8mm measuring apertures).
  10. Very light Tyvek or similar

I search for a very light Tyvek or similar media (waterproof and tear resistance), preferrably below 90g per square meter. There is something around in 75g, but only sheets for HP Indigo. Should be compatible to HP Latex. Does anyone have a suggestion for me  ?
  11. Installing Printers on Onyx for the First Time

The user manual is only talking about Print/Cut-Jobs because this is the only thing which can be done with Onyx and the CutServer. If you want to to print and cut-jobs in one software onyx is the wrong choice. Does the printer work with the printer drivers which are coming with the printer...
  12. Caldera Summa Postnet & FlexCut

There are two flexcut-modes available in Summa-Plotters, "fast" and "accurate", and "accurate" does that little steps (stops everytime when changing pressure). Since Onyx 11, Onyx too supports only "accurate". When asking for that issue, they told me that skipping the "fast" mode was a...
  13. Anyone have success tiling banners on the HP Latex 260?

Try the following: On the right side of the printer, below the window at the front panel, you will find a small silver tube (enclosed picture shows the same situation on a 280). This is an infrared temperature sensor. If possible arrange your print that the sensor do not measure on printed...
  14. Sp300 and the stupid mistake i made!!

If you plug in the cable incorrectly, you damage the fuse as soon as you power up the printer. In 99% of the cases, it's not the head.
  15. Sp300 and the stupid mistake i made!!

I don't think the heads are ruined electrically, but changing head cables when the machine is powered on or just simply still connected to the power source will kill the head fuses which are soldered on the mainboard. The fuses are looking like the marked ones on the enclosed pictures (but...
  16. Matching color on L26500's and LX850

On the L26500, check your printheads. If the age of the heads differ very much, this could be the reason for different colours with the same profiles. Color matching between different printers: there are RIP's on the market who are allowing to let different printers simulate a standard gamut...
  17. SolJet ProV 545EX?

The 545EX should be older than 2009.
  18. Caldera & Flexcutting

To avoid that the software overwrites the cutter settings, you could configure the plotter to ignore tool commands sent from the software (communication - tool command - ignore). But this will not be helpful if you want to combine sometimes kiss-cut and flex-cut in one job. I don't know...
  19. Chevy vs Ford..., I mean Summa vs Graphtec

Yes, on the Summa the same knife in the same position is used to do FlexCut (Perforation). With the Graphtec, the same knife is used on a different location ((I don't know Graphtec so much, but I have checked the documentation). But the Summa is developed to do so, FlexCut is supported since 15...
